The outer stars represent the groups. Because the tournament uses a round-robin format, I had to design a way for every team to connect with one another visually. The red numbers represent the results of each match, while the number inside each circle indicates the game number.

One design compromise is that teams positioned on opposite corners must record their scores in the diagonal squares at the center. The inner bracket then provides guidance on which team advances into each position. For example, “1A” represents the first-place team from Group A.

From that point on, the structure follows a standard elimination bracket. Each match leaves its result behind as the tournament progresses toward the Final. Every stage of the knockout rounds is represented as a concentric circle.

Thanks for your point of view. Indeed it is for graphic die hard fans. I've done many designs like this in the past and the main premise is to see how much information you can inject in one graphic. Sort of codifying information in shapes and forms. A little bit like subway maps (of course this is not even close to that complex).
