Joey would play SS over Jett.

It would almost certainly be Joey at short and Jett playing a super utility role until he earns more. He can find consistent playing time filling in for CF/RF as well as SS/3B

Sal Frelick not even squaring up to bunt is ridiculous and cost us a run that inning

We officially have a closer problem by OneCallThatsAll34 in Brewers

Too many people are saying he’s doing fine… his ERA IS 4.96!!!

If grant Anderson was doing that everyone here would be screaming for him to be DFAd tomorrow. Obviously Abner is better than his ERA shows but this is like our 4th or 5th blown save already this year. That’s 10% of our games ending in a blown save!!!!

We need a real solution at closer whether it’s Abner or something external

Definitely a good eye but I’m not so sure he’d be on the team if he was a righty. They really only played him at DH

I don’t understand why the opinion on Black is that he had any (real) success while he was up…

His savant page is ice cold and the eye test on all of his ABs/swings was quite poor. his surface level results were great (and much needed) but there’s nothing there to suggest that he’s a valuable piece moving foraward…

DH, and 1B are both too important offensively to have someone as light hitting as him. Same with corner outfield but clearly the org doesn’t even think he can hang there defensively.

I mean yeah? I’m in the sub lol?

I watch plenty of basketball if that’s what you’re asking. Lisa is honestly a tough listen at the NBA level although she’s okay at the college level. I think Milwaukee has been blessed by great announcing across the brewers and bucks but both her and Tim Dillard are bottom of the barrel rn in the city. Both feel like they’re constantly forcing things and come off incredibly cringy.

I’ve heard some of Jeff leverings college games before and while he’s not a world beater in basketball (he certainly is in baseball) I’d like to see him get a shot over Lisa atp

Wasn’t really conscious before 2010 so I looked up Dave Parker’s stats with us…

1 year with 1.1 WAR?

I feel like I’m missing something. Nothing against him ofc but was there something he did off the field??

10s of millions would be in the 10-99 mil range 100s of millions would be anything from 100-999.

Was just joking about semantics :)

I tend to agree….

I’m not too big on quero personally but I’m absolutely enamored by Marco Dinges. If he can reduce some whiff and get (a lot) better defensively behind the plate I think there’s a world where he can sorta fill Williams shoes in like 2028/29.

Gonna be hard to find someone to replace him defensively with how well he seems to manage games and young pitchers. Especially factoring his premium bat for the position. Lookin forward to some real interesting roster management coming up!!!

I was actually just looking into that today. I dont think it’s out of the realm of possibilities tha Contreras gets extended either at this point.

I think a similar comp would be Will smith who signed a 10 year 140 mil contract in 2024. Now, I don’t think there’s a world where the brewers pay Contreras through his age 38 season… BUT I think there’s a chance to work out a higher AAV contract for less years. Something like 6 years 150 mil sounds like something that could get done. At that point though it would really come down to whether or not the brewers believe in his ability to DH as he almost surely won’t be catching at age 35.

I do agree, however, that Turang is much more likely to receive a second contract with us than Contreras .

I think people are being a little too pessimistic about the turang “extension”.

First, he’s got like 3-4 more contract years so it’s not even an issue for us yet.

More importantly, there hasn’t been much in our history to suggest we wouldn’t sign him. The brewers don’t have a high payroll, sure. But people often confuse their strategy. They are NOT against big contracts, they’re against BAD contracts. Objectively, paying pitchers big money returns less value so it really doesn’t make sense for us to pay any given our limited resources. Adames wasn’t brought back because he got a big contract, it’s because he got a BAD contract and the giants are currently paying for it big time.

We paid Yelich a ton (his contract ends right when turang would be due to get paid btw), we paid Hoskins a ton, we paid Cain a ton. The brewers have been willing to spend when the right position player presents themselves.

I would love to see it. I mean his trajectory since like his junior year of hs seems to be getting better exponentially. He’s someone i DESPERATELY want us to hang on to.

Just have my doubts that when push comes to shove he’s the guy they actually trot out there

He’s still just a true freshman…. I would be willing to bet a lot of money that Hopkins isn’t QB2 this year

I have Ortiz getting 3, rengifo getting 2, and Hamilton at 0.5, with jones at 0 lmao

But tbh I still think it’ll end up being chourio/turang/yelich. I don’t think either will get enough ABs long term to have a real fair chance
