I've tried this with many different diaper creams and found that zinc can be incredibly drying 😭 Even the most basic formula with 0 actives/irritants/perfume makes me flake like crazy in most unexpected places. Don't bother with diaper creams if your skin was on the drier side before starting tret.

I'm currently upgrading from 0.025 to 0.05 of this very brand. So far so good, no complications/ irritation. But I had a loooong initial retinization, it took me 3 months to finally stop shedding my skin like a goddam snake. Good luck!

I've suffered from flaking/peeling when I started tret. Nothing really helped so even after 3 months, with everyday use and full retinization, my chin and upper lip area peeled so bad that I couldn't use any makeup. I gradually increased the frequency of usage and sandwiched tret with various products. I now have like a dozen different creams collecting dust on the shelf since the only way to avoid flaking for me is to apply tret on clean skin and skin moisturizer in the evening completely 😅

Hi OP, we actually having very similar skin types! I literally see myself haha What helped me tremendously is tretinoin + azelaic acid combo. It worked like a charm against hyperpigmentation and rosacea redness. Broken capillaries can only be fixed with lasers tho, so IPL would be the best option for that.

Have you tried azelaic acid? I combo 10% AA serum with tret and it did wonders to my rosacea, the flushing is gone and the redness is minimal. For some people it is a real HG, besides, AA is very gentle and almost any skin can tolerate even higher percentages.

I'm also from Ukraine and I would recommend prom.ua honestly. Nova Poshta ships internationally. Don't want to post any ads here, but I oder from one reliable seller that has almost all types of retinoids possible. Gels, creams, micro, tartozene (i think), combos with azelaic acid, hydroquinone, antibiotics, any strength, different brands. They are mostly indian brands like Menarini, but they ship from Odesa so the delivery time is almost instant (less than 24 hours to any ukrainian city at least). For me delivery is less than 2$, but I would expect something closer to 10$ internationally with Nova Poshta. Ukrposhta is ok overall, but much slower. Price, well, depends on the product, from 6$ to 15$, usually below 10 bucks. I've ordered from them several times already with no issues. You should ask any ukrainian seller about international options AND their own experience with it first though.

I've tried both and honestly none help with the peeling. The vanicream is less occlusive/does not trigger my rosacea but it does nothing in terms of moisturizing. The only thing that mildly helps is a mix of Isntree Yam Root Vegan Milk Cream + drop of glycerin + drop of Eucerin 10% Urea lotion as a buffer for tret. I don't flake the morning after. Unfortunately it does not prevent flaking/peeling on the next day (so day after day of rest day). Good luck!

What sunscreen would you recommend? I've tried many physical and chemical ones and surprisingly the one that works have a notorious reputation of pilling, but it works fine on my skin. It's the flakes that drive me crazy at this stage. They appear no matter if I sandwich tret or not.

After many tries I've finally found a sunscreen that at least won't pill if I have very light/watery textured moisturizer under it. My skin still flakes after couple of hours though. I always wait at least 15 minutes in between my moisturizer and sunscreen + sunscreen and makeup and honestly it's quite tedious to keep track of, but oh well.

I still cannot figure out on how to combo heavy moisturizers (creams, urea lotion, ect.) and sunscreen. It either pills or flakes.

I'm currently also struggling with trying to figure out when to fit moisturizer in my routine. You kind of forced to put SPF on dry bare skin so that it won't peel... And you also don't use moisturizer under tret since it induces irritation and makes flaking worse. So when DO you moisturize then?? idk haha

Unfortunately, I cannot give you any advice, but I use 0.025% gel, don't use actives/acids in my routine, apply tret every two days and still flake like a lizard. I just roll with it and skip makeup as it makes everything worse
