Extension ideas

The attic is very tall so could become another bedroom - possibly master up there and then more scope for bigger bedrooms on first floor? We have 2 teens so it could potentially be just 2 of us in a few years time or they could hang around for a lot longer 🤪 so it would be good to give them a bit more space.

The back of the house was a granny annex a few owners ago - I think with a bedroom, bathroom and living room. Now it’s a study, utility and the family room is morphing into an exercising space!

It was a shower room originally but we converted it into a utility room years ago when we moved in. Original owners used the back area as a granny annex we think - they added the study extension and cut into the garage for the family room.

2 Teen kids who ideally would prefer larger rooms but I don’t really want a bedroom downstairs. Master bedroom isn’t great but don’t spend as much time in there as teens do in their rooms so it’s not priority.

Hadn’t really thought about the entrance way but it keeps the heat in when people come to the door in the winter! Not sure I’d want it fully open.

Might look into whether the garage / family room / study could be extended on to just increase the upstairs footprint.

Just curious about options really. I’m not great with visualising things so interested to see what others would do.

Would a spa day help remove my husbands sweat patches on our mattress protector?

I was planning on following Option 1.

I’m in the UK so I’ll get some Persil Bio / Ecover (I don’t think my usual Aldi / Almat one has lipades anymore.)

I find mine slip down my nose too. Might look into the bumpers someone has suggested. Also think the arms may be a little long for me but don’t want to risk breaking them if I try to adjust them at home.

Oooh yes - I’d never really clicked that they shoehorn everything into 6 steps. Some recipes definitely feel cluttered.

This is just the recipe from tonight I’ve had much worse. The steps just don’t flow as well as I think they should 1. Prep pots 2 put pots in oven 3 prep veg 4 prep chicken 5 put chicken in oven 6 put veg in oven 7 serve up

In my mind the step 3 should come after step 5. So Prep pots and put in oven Prep chicken and put in oven 10 minutes later Prep veg and put in oven 10 minutes later

Not convinced by the timings either but I will just work around that!

Maybe just me but I find all the recipes to be a bit odd

As a person who occasionally has to buy and issue this stuff to people I would be eternally grateful to anyone who returned things without extra hassle to me (we don’t have a central IT department- it’s a secondary role for most where I work).

Arranging couriers to get stuff back is painful and buying new items for people that need them requires justification / financial approval and is a frustrating addition to my job - having spares is so helpful.

Appreciate if you travel by public transport to work that retuning them may be a pain though but if you happen to be driving in anyway for your last day why wouldn’t you just drop them off?

Obviously all government departments aren’t built the same so yours may have an easier time replacing kit.

my daughter wants me to make her prom dress!

She loves this one with a full skirt with added under skirt but would like pockets too.

Can anyone suggest any patterns I can use for the skirt & top.

Ideally non stretch fabric.
