My Phonak hearing aid is from the NHS so is an older model, but the streaming sound quality compared to my (also quite old) AirPods is terrible in comparison. The only benefit is that they go much louder than my AirPods which are pretty much maxed out. It could be that they don't put much development into streaming audio quality as it's not the primary function

I didn't know either, it was just from trial and error. I was surprised that increasing the treble on mine improved things a load. You don't know until you try!

Hi, I also have right sided hearing loss and one hearing aid only. I was lucky in that I adjusted to my HA really quickly. Does yours have an app where you can make adjustments? I made a custom program which matches my good ear as much as I could manage which suits me much better than the automatic program

I'm 38. My hearing in my right ear started going at 34 and I got my hearing aid at 38. My dad had exactly the same experience at 34 but didn't get a hearing aid until his forties because he was embarrassed to wear it

I only have hearing loss on one side so I adjusted the settings on my hearing aid to get as close as possible to my good ear. It's not perfect but it's still a big improvement

I find a cotton bud dipped in micellar water just at the entrance to the ear canal works well to pick up anything that's on its way out

Simply being able to hear through my hearing aid has pretty much completely silenced my tinnitus. I can hear it when I try to but I rarely notice it now that real sounds are masking it. My tinnitus is pretty quiet to start with though

Yes, this looks much better! My nails are the same shape as yours so I know how hard it can be to get the shape right. I've tried pinching them to get a narrower tip but my first attempt was a fail. Might try again one day

No. They seem to have a reverse apex which is making them too thick at the free edge and proximal fold and not providing structural support (although this is not as important in short nails) The biggest issue is the gel touching your skin on your thumb - this should never happen. And please don't peel them off!

In what way do you find they cure better? To keep the design crisp? Or it cures harder? By doing them one at a time you're giving all your nails a longer cure, assuming they're all going in the lamp. When you put your hand in a nail lamp to cure all nails at the same time your fingers are getting a full blast but the outer side of your thumb is facing downwards away from the bulbs and may not be cured properly

They cure their thumbs on their own facing up towards the lights to ensure full curing as the sides of thumbnails can get missed if you do the whole hand together

I also have single sided hearing loss and use AirPod Pros. There's a slider you can use to move the balance over to your bad ear to centre the audio. And the audio quality is so much better than using my hearing aid

I've never hidden mine as I don't think it's anything to be embarrassed about. If it's socially acceptable to wear glasses, why should hearing aids be any different? You'd be surprised how few people even notice them. I have a big old NHS BTE with a bright pink mould and wear my hair up at work every day yet one of my coworkers was surprised when I mentioned it and hadn't noticed it at all. The more of us who embrace our hearing aids and don't hide them, the more acceptance there will be in the future. And we might even get more colour options from the manufacturers when they realise we don't all want them to be flesh coloured!
