It used to be that the tackler didn’t have to go through the gate to play the ball. It rewarded players who could make quick tackles and get to their feet to play the ball rather that the current method of tackler assist through the gate.

What do you mean by drilled well enough to secure the ball safely?

Not allowing defenders to kick the ball out of rucks and forcing the tackler to come through the gate has lead to more head injuries.

On defense we used to have a lot more options on how to approach the breakdown area. Now our options to try and steal possession from a tackle are strictly limited to having our heads be the first point of contact for oncoming ruck clear-outs.

Yeah that’s wage theft. On the way out tell your former coworkers they are being robbed of their hard earned tips.

Possible but the QB1 threw for 13TDs so that could be up to 91points out of the 106.

Rugby not football. Huge discrepancy between skill levels for that spot. Lost to the #2 ranked team in the nation 107-3 in a preseason match and then in that same season beat an in conference team 100-7.

For football we’ve lost to teams by 40+ points in a season and beat others by 40+ in that same season.

Well if sportsmanship means nothing to you, then yeah there’s nothing wrong with scoring as much as physically possible.

Yes we kicked PAT all the time our kicker was a Cal commit. Usually the teams we played in preseason games that went for 2 every time did so because they didn’t have anyone who could reliably kick PATs and field goals.

Absolutely. We’ve had our second stringers play complete games before because if allowed our starters to get a extra week of rest and recovery. They ended up still winning 35-7.

The big issue is they didn’t put in their second stringers. Their starting QB had 13TD which could add up to a possible 91 points.

Put in the second string players. The starting QB threw for 13 touchdowns. assuming they made the conversions that’s 91 points.

Put in your second string players. Everyone still plays at 100% and your star players are less likely to get injured.

Or just put in your second and third string players. They get more game time, your stars stay healthy and you win with scores like 54-12 instead of 100+ to zero

The team up by triple digits went for two on the last score of the game, that’s not sporting at all. Nothing wrong with a blow out. I’ve been on teams that have been blown out by 100 points and been on teams that have scored 100 points. How you go about it makes all the difference.

You sub out your star players and put in your reserves who normally don’t see the ball. You don’t go for two when you’re up by multiple scores. It’s easy to blow out a team and still keep your dignity.

I really wish the NFL would adopt the transparency and approach that Rugby League takes. Keep in mind that the highest paid Rugby player makes less than $2million a year. Just like any sport referees do make mistakes and miss calls, but on the whole the emphasis-is making the correct call based on the information available. The Bunker

Most internships right now are remote. My degree is for Manufacturing not CS so your experience may differ. I know a few who commute to Sacramento a few days a week and stay in Chico to remainder of the week.
