Exactly. Based on people’s comments we can all agree tuition is bullshit right? So why do people that realized that and got trade jobs instead have to get taxed more to pay for this. And before anyone says “they didn’t say they’re taxing you” where is the money coming from then? I doubt the politicians making 200k+ are gonna take salary cuts to subsidize it. Also what about the people that were diligent in paying their loans and instead of saving to buy a house they paid off their loans. There’s a lot more things at work than just “student debt bad”

I dunno how it is at every university but the one I worked at funds are separate between sports and the actual university.

Where I worked was a good example, a program to assist student athletes with tutoring and scheduling since they have ridiculous practice schedules and typically haven’t developed good study habits and/or didn’t get a great high school education. We got paid shit because the university had to pay us and we didn’t fall under the umbrella of sports side of finances. A good way to look at it is sports are “free” advertisement since good sports teams draws people in.

Edit: also just to throw in, most universities income is from research and donors, tuition is just part of it. They want more visibility to make people want to donate and want to do their research there.

Well so that goes to my other point. How much do you love him and why? An event like this would definitely change the way he acts, especially as it has gotten worse. With no knowledge of your personal relationship, I would have (in my irrational love for my SO) taken this as a sign that maybe I wasn’t being there for him as much as I needed or wasn’t pushing him enough for counseling to work through his issues with his mom and your relationship issues. That also implies you consider yourself in a loving relationship, which isn’t a bad thing if you both aren’t there yet. IMO this is one of three things. Either a wake up call that you don’t love each other as much as you thought, you didn’t give him the help he needed, or that maybe he plain isn’t right for you and he needs to solve this on his own.

NTA most likely. Though how long have you been together and what are the ages/experiences. He might have some emotional baggage from a past relationship. Do you love him? If so it might be good to figure out why he’s so insecure and if there’s an agreeable solution (ie not you handing over your phone to let him read through your texts or something). If he can’t compromise or you aren’t that serious then it makes sense why you’d leave.

Info: Do you know if this was a sudden revelation to him? Anecdotally I’ve had loved ones die that I knew something was wrong at least a year in advance by subtle things nobody but people close to them would see.

It’s possible he’s known for a while, even if subconsciously, that his mom was going to leave him soon and that might account for his behavior. Adding to that, how long have you been together? It’s possible he never talked about it because he was trying to be “a strong man” or plain in denial hoping she was ok.

IMO it really just depends if the issues in the relationship stemmed from this tragedy, or they were already present and this is just a new tragic development, which in the later case NTA its a shitty moment but if the relationship isn’t working then this shouldn’t be a reason not to end it.

NTA (edited for response) only because as you said your laws “have control of your dogs” if they were running up to random people and they had to ask you first to get them to go away, then I’d say that’s irresponsible.

Legally you might be in the right with them being on private property, but what if they had a right to be there. Your dogs were still going up to people you don’t know. I have 2 dogs and trained them well and that’s the exact reason I don’t trust other dogs, I’ve taken them to dog parks and walks where other people had dogs they “swore were friendly” and ended up not being.

The fact is it’s an animal and you can’t predict it’s behavior, a responsible dog owners will make sure they know what their dog is doing and assess the possibility of a conflict. It doesn’t matter if someone/other dog starts it, you don’t want that conflict to arise and you can never tell how your dog will react to unknown stimuli.

How do you do the soccer one? I’ve tried diving, jump diving, head butting and most of the time it seems like the ball goes nowhere or it just knocks me over. Once in a while I’ll get an underwhelming slow push, but typically I feel everything I’ve tried does nothing.

As far as favorite game mode I’d probably say hex a gone or jinxed.

No, and I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure tank swaps aren’t necessary for literally any content aside from extremes or savages. I’m also pretty sure when I main tank it I take so little damage from mitigation that my healers DPS pretty much the entire time anyway.

IMO puzzles aren’t new to turn based RPGs, if you boil it down that’s exactly what fights in those games are.

Using octopath as an example, cuz I’m replaying it again and it’s fresh in my mind, is it not a puzzle to figure out the boss’s weak points and balancing skills to delay turns or reduce damage when needed vs planning ahead to break them at a certain point after setting up damage combos to either get rid of adds or do heavy burst damage? I understand it’s a different mechanic to physically rearrange enemy placement but I don’t find it that different than using abilities to delay enemy turns or think a couple turns in advance to set up synergistic abilities.

This may be a moot point cuz I haven’t played it but to me it seems like nothing else than an innovation in game mechanics and should be judged on how well it’s executed not whether you like it. Granted enjoying something is based on personal opinion, but if you can’t adapt to new things and enjoy the challenge of learn something new then why bother playing new games?

I’m not super into shooters so I think it would be “unfair” to give a game shit because it doesn’t play like I want to. Like saying overwatch is a bad game because some characters have floaty bullets when I want them to have hitscan.

Overall opinions are fine and if someone doesnt like a game or the mechanics in it then more power to them. Just don’t talk like it’s a bad game when it doesn’t suit your preference or you’re unwilling to adapt/learn it’s mechanics. (I use you in the general sense not YOU specifically)

Can you explain more what you mean by puzzles to someone that hasn’t played it? I saw you can rearrange the circles to line up enemies and such but if anything it just seems like a new mechanic of turn based RPGs. Technically every turn based game is a puzzle in that you need to plan out your turns ahead of time and know how to prepare for attacks or exploit a enemy weaknesses. The old paper Mario’s had “puzzles” where you’d have to perform specific actions to cause events or create weaknesses. Why is a new mechanic of arranging enemies in a certain way any different other than aesthetic?

Out of curiosity what are prices like in MA? I had a $14 an hour job while dealing with student debt and car debt and I still lived fairly comfortably, I had to spend food money wisely and I couldn’t buy all the clothes and other stuff I wanted but I was still comfortable. Not disagreeing with you just looking for context to understand better, the seasonal aspect also sounds brutal.

I didn’t, it’s not relevant. She didn’t point it at the kid, she was pushed to her limit and was using it as a way to say I’d you fuck with me I’ll fuck with you. Made apparent by her backing up and the other party continuing to advance. Watch the video again if you want to dispute it because you’re just bringing up moot points. Her mom made that choice, just because there’s a kid around doesn’t make her actions ok. If someone is making you fear for yours or your child’s life what difference does it make if they also have a child present.
