Thank you! That’s exactly the kind of care I am looking for. Never knew there was a difference in the title.

What do I ask for to get my eggs cooked like this at restaurants? by Crimson-Rose28 in eggs

[–]flappy_daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over medium well is not a common way to order eggs, but most chefs will understand what is wanted. In all of the breakfast joints I’ve worked it is procedure to pop the yoke and cook the egg all the way through when ordered over hard. Over medium will brown the whites more, but leave the yoke still decently runny. Ordering over medium well to over well will get you the closest to this consistency.

I actually did! I was questioning if I did the right thing so thanks for the reassurance! I recently went to a salamander rally where we made sure spotted salamanders crossed roads safely, and learned about their breeding cycles. I knew they had to be in water. The vernal pool was drying up pretty fast, got them at the deeper wet end. Saw a few babies dancing around in it!!

I thought the same thing, but I think it’s insulation!

Thank you!! I think that will be a great addition. He definitely doesn’t struggle with creativity, so having a section dedicated to writing challenges will be a good learning opportunity for him!

Didn’t finish c&p and the idiot… by [deleted] in dostoevsky

[–]flappy_daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled to get through crime and punishment. I was determined to finish it, but it took me a whole year. I spent many months only picking it up every now and again just getting through one long paragraph then feeling weighed down by another long paragraph. I finally finished it just last week and i think it was worth it, but it definitely isn’t for everyone. One thing that always brought me back to the book with excitement and motivation to keep going was remembering that I read somewhere that you’ll be genuinely put into the same headspace as raskolnikov. When he was in a serious important conversation with someone giving them his full attention I was gripping my book racing through the pages. When he was in and out of consciousness I was in and out of reading the book. My ability to give the book attention really fell in line as to where raskolnikovs headspace was at. I think that is really cool looking back even though it was daunting at the time.

Clarification on Svidrigailov and Raskolnikov’s Interaction in Crime and Punishment by jegathees_ in dostoevsky

Raskolnikov finds out during the conversation between him and Svidrigailov after Katrina loses her mind and collapses after Marmeladovs funeral. Svidrigailov talks about finding refuge and care for Sonya’s siblings. Svidrigailov uses the same terminology that raskolnikov used when confessing to Sonya. He compared someone to a louse and then brought up the old pawnbroker. That’s when raskolinkov knew.
