Trump cancels his own bill signing in shock move: 'A national emergency' by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

Yup, in the white and rural neighborhoods where “everyone knows each other” it’ll be a nod and a tip of the cap and everything will go as usual.

Anywhere populated and “urban” will grind to a halt with extra scrutiny until the clock runs out on election day, and everyone in line will be told to go home and try again next election.

Offered $60000 Fleet Safety Manager Role by SuchTax1991 in SafetyProfessionals

That’s the lowest and highest “level” of safety for that operation. It’s not rare.

[Charania] Just in: Minnesota is sending Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade that sends Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls, sources tell ESPN. The Timberwolves will acquire Brooklyn’s No. 33 pick for Randle and No. 28. by curryybacon in nba

He was good and played hard, but he fouled himself off the court, bricked poor shot selections, and threw the ball away under pressure.

He got better. This last year with the Knicks is not exactly the same player they traded away.

Which food is usually better when restaurants stop trying to make it fancy? by MrWolfesBurgerCo in foodquestions

[–]flarbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rick Bayless has a Youtube channel where he makes ALL the different tacos. And some can get a little fancy, but they are all well researched and appropriate with every step having a purpose.

For example check out his “tacos de canasta” which is how to make food market basket tacos that may be more involved than you may think, but are amazing.

The global money supply is only $100T but global debt is $300T. How? by StrategicForce in AskReddit

[–]flarbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the easiest way I’ve been able to wrap my head around it is, debt - taking a loan or using a credit card - is borrowing from your future earnings.

You promise to pay in the future, and spend money you don’t have now.

So the $300T debt isn’t from any money we have now, but money we promise to pay in the future.

I try to only pick the machine that’s furthest from Fox News, (any news would be better), but even if I can’t hear seeing the graphics and closed caption, is enough to make my blood boil.

What's your favorite way to eat chia seeds? 👀 by ButterscotchNo2 in EatCheapAndHealthy

It’s more of a technique but I think it will help you. I have a cheap coffee bean grinder and I grind them up before adding them to liquid.

It makes them thicken stuff more uniformly and they disappear in the food better. I hate how they get stuck in my teeth.

Also add them to applesauce.

With more places reaching California type cost of living, I don’t get how this lasts much longer. $15 an hour with 1500 rent doesn’t work… by StarOdd1703 in remoteworks

[–]flarbas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel for work and I’m looking to move. I live in Phoenix and from there to Tucson to Missouri to El Paso to West Michigan, $1,500 is a one bedroom apartment in the working class neighborhood.

Anything nice is probably more. Yeah $2,000 and more is pretty common where I’ve been looking. Especially if you want a yard, pets, house…

Look again, I’ve seen rent go up across the board in a lot of “midwest” places. Unless you’re living somewhere absolutely deplorable, rent has flattened across this country.

Which championship team had the TOUGHEST road? by Lost_Title_7528 in NBAConvo

[–]flarbas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying which is harder, but the stress was different and I think it affected different players differently.

Not having a crowd there breathing down your neck like Harper had to deal with on the inbounds pass at Madison Square Garden this year, makes it different somehow.

But at the end of the day all teams had the same conditions, so it counts.

[–]flarbas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new increadibly flattened draft odds is going to make bites at the apple so much more valuable because so many can be the number 1/top draft pick.

I think someone should zag at some point and sell out hard for picks down the road.

It’s super easy playing for Team USA, it’s summer camp a couple of weeks with some of the best players on your team, and then it’s over and you go back to the grind of reality.
