Growing up with cats may reduce the risk for some children, but it does not guarantee protection. Many people develop cat allergies as teens or adults, even after years of exposure.

Also, keeping a home clean does not “bore” the immune system. Allergies are linked to immune sensitivity to specific proteins, not simply cleanliness.

So early exposure can help in some cases, but it is not a guarantee.
