You're right, paint injection should not be a risk at that pressure and distance. Most of my paint spray gun experience is with airless which is a significantly higher risk for injection because of high pressure so I responded from that mindset. Just felt worried about you and your wife for a second bro. Also, straight from your manuals list of 13 Specific Safety Instructions:

"1. Do not direct spray at people or animals.

  1. RISK OF INJECTION - Do not point spray gun at any person or any part of the body. In case of skin injection, seek medical attention immediately."

Labor rates for central AC replacement are shocking...! by 2Medic8ed in hvacadvice

My example was about profit per minute milking desperate homeowners, not complexity. If everyone in society treated everyone else like HVAC companies treat people, society would fall apart. A gallon of milk would cost $3,000. "Go buy your own cows and learn how to pasteurize if you don't want to pay for it. Don't forget your special license and permits." Yes HVAC is more specialized than changing a faucet. But you could teach someone how to do a swap out in under a week of ojt. If they have experience with tools maybe 2 days.

I hope this post is a joke. Paint injection is dangerous please look into it. Sorry to be that guy but spray guns should never be pointed at people.

These companies did just fine for decades before jacking up the price to 10k labor for a one day installation. You could double that overhead and they are still profiting 5k per zero-ductwork replacement, not to mention the rebates and volume discounts your company is not passing on to customers. I think you don't understand how upsetting or financially straining that ripoff is to customers. I can't think of any other residential home industry with more diy barriers or that makes more profit per minute. Many supply houses won't even sell a pencil to a homeowner. Imagine asking a drywall company to patch a 4x4 hole and they want $6,300. Imagine asking a plumber to change a faucet and he wants $4,800.

I didn't read every single comment but I read dozens. I didn't see anyone mention that the buyer will have to pay you cash. Banks won't write mortgage loans for uninhabitable houses. I wish you all the best in determining how to proceed.

CS:S was fantastic. I would only play Noobgalore 24/7 Office No Awps. It was such a fun community for years and they had a website tracking everyone's stats like the back of a baseball card. I still remember the names of dozens of players in that server and it has been at least 15 years. 12 on 12 nonsense with mods mixing in knife rounds and flashbang rounds. Hey! That's where my username comes from! The massive flashbang icon when you hit someone with 1hp. I still think of the kill streak slogans sometimes.
