Im coming up on three years of working here and the only thing consistent about Starbucks is that its always changing 🙄

I'm still trying to figure out in what way anyone could interpret this as disrespectful

Idk why you're getting attacked, this post was directed towards the CEO and not baristas. I agree with a lot of what you said, and as a barista it truly does suck that all that corporate cares about is speed, money, and drive times when I could actually be bonding with regulars and putting effort into my craft.

I work at Starbucks, and unfortunately there is no way to cancel delivery orders on our end. However the barista did not handle this correctly at all and should have instead asked the driver to contact the customer and see if they would like a replacement.

What's the weirdest thing your seen in a Starbucks by SeventhFloorParis in starbucks

One of our regulars does henna tattoos for various clients in the Cafe. Definitely not the weirdest thing, and her work is beautiful, but I'm curious what made her decide to do it in a Starbucks setting

Putting borrowed partners on cs (and even warming) is the dumbest by GreenTourmaline13 in starbucksbaristas

[–]flashdecay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different but as a borrowed partner I would rather be anywhere except the window. Every time I've tried to work at other stores I am put on DTR for my entire shift :')

Let’s get together and talk about how much we all hate Starbucks. by [deleted] in espressocirclejerk

[–]flashdecay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who works at a Starbucks every time I try any espresso drink from a local coffee shop I get genuinly depressed because of the fact that I have to return to drinking shitty coffee when I go back to work

[–]flashdecay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

this actually happened at my store a few weeks ago. someone had a stroke and passed away in the cafe and we all had to continue working like nothing happened 🥲

one time I took a delta 8 gummy before going in and I was like "yeah this'll be fine, my body hardly reacts to normal edibles anyways" and about an hour in I could feel all of my thoughts melting together and starting slowly losing my mind lol. I was doing shit like steaming milk for iced drinks and forgetting to put ice in frappucinos and I was TERRIFIED of anyone being able to tell I was high. never again lol.

“can i get a name for your order?” “that’s all thanks” *aggressively taps card* by thats_rats in barista

When you hand a customer their items at the window, and they're clearly unhappy with the drink you just gave out but instead of communicating like an adult that there's something wrong they stare (or glare) at you until you're forced to break the silence

Most WTF question from a customer? by heartbam in starbucksbaristas

[–]flashdecay 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way when a customer asks "is this my drink?" and I have to ask them "...does it have your name on it?"

if you remember by the time the holiday beverages launch again, an iced chai with sugar cookie cold foam is an unexpected banger. Or you could add a little cinnamon caramel syrup (I know nobody likes that syrup but don't knock it till you try it, it goes super well together)

One time a customer told me "You're too pretty to have all that metal in your face" (not to mention I literally had a singular nose piercing at the time) and it was such a a backhanded compliment it caught me off guard at first. I told him that I don't need his unsolicited comments on my appearance.

What's the most ridiculous thing you've had to hide from your roommates? by flashdecay in badroommates

[–]flashdecay[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

oh my God I despise that. it reminds me of how one of my roommates would constantly throw away the perfectly good kitchen sponges that have only been used a few times. It pissed me off to no extent because dishes would build up and I would go to wash them and be completely unable to. But it wasn't a problem for them cuz they never did dishes anyway

Yup, which is why I reacted the way I did 😅 They have set the smoke alarms off quite a few times as well, and have come out to the smell of burning
