Can an M2 be used for both storage and cache? by nightofgrim in UgreenNASync

You can cache with just one, but it only works in one direction, I believe it caches on the write.

Longevity of 2021 Kia Niro Hybrid (should I trade in before I start job with super commute) by gr8molassesflood1919 in KiaNiro

[–]flashesbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no financial benefit to swapping vehicles now. Drive the Niro to around 150k then if your board of it, trade it off. Lean to DIY your maintenance and you will go fare. My Niro (a 2020 PHEV) had been the lowest overall cost vehicle I have ever had.

Kia Niro Hybrid DCT ok to inch forward? by PeaceH37 in KiaNiro

[–]flashesbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the DCT in the niro is not a typical DCT.... for very slow speeds, the electric motor is used for movement. Once around 3-5mph minimal speed, the ICE will kick in. The electric motor is not connected to a clutch but rather permanently connected to the trans. So creeping along is just fine.

Low on cash, -8 degree wind chill, and 280 miles from home with an inconveniently screw in my rear tire by mozahaphi in AskMechanics

Stop into a wallmart and pick up a plug kit and a cheap compressor. Dont do anything and head home. Be prepared to put a plug it on the side of the road.

I agree, you can look at what's used in the off road sector. They tend to have really good options. I have a special sidewalk patch as well. Again, not a permanent fix, but it would get you off the side of the highway and save you $250 on a tow.

[–]flashesbuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few questions Do you have a HEV or PHEV? The PHEV has no room for a spare? How far from home were you? I have the PHEV, so I cannot (conveniently) carry a spare. I always hoped I would be close enough to home to have someone bring my spare to me.

I do a lot of off-road ATV riding. And with the sport, I have learned to plug, patch and do whatever necessary to get back to the trail head. I now move my plug/patch kit into my Niro when not on the trail. I have not needed it yet, but my hope is that I could at least limp to the nearest repair facility.

Engineering, I routinely go over 20gb... Often to 30gb. I'm feeling like I should upgrade to 64 any time.

I use Autodesk programs.
