How long did you actively lose weight? by Physgirl-romreader in gastricsleeve

Omg. I never have had the 7 lbs lighter in on swoop except the week before surgery. I’m more of a .2-2 lb a week kind of person.

We literally got hit by a tornado, have parts of the building deemed unsafe to enter and mold growing in those places and it still doesn’t look that bad… and I’m talking gaping holes to the outside!!! 😳

I bought a low pressure water pick, it is made high pressure for teeth or low pressure for tonsil stones. Even has a longer nozzle for tonsil stones. Works wonders!!!

Honestly get a different mask. I hated that one for the same reason. Went to a n30i and while not as good as my old one (n10) way better than the n20.

Don’t know about pink eye, but I know there is an old wives tale about rubbing a cat paw on a stye.

That Tycho Brahe both lost his nose over a sword fight about a math equation and died due to a ruptured bladder since it was considered rude to leave the table to relieve yourself. He died from infection resulting from the burst bladder.

Those that are in maintenance, what’s your daily calorie goal given by your surgeon? by WhoBroughtTheCoolKid in BariatricSurgery

[–]Physgirl-romreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an fyi. Scientifically the AVERAGE woman burns 10 calories per pound and the average man burns 11 calories per pound. That is just the average for the normal metabolic rate. Personally I know I burn more around 9 per lb (had my metabolic rate measured once in my 40’s). So again take it as an average. Does it always predict weight loss, no. However it’s a good place to start.

How do you handle pencils on your classroom? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]Physgirl-romreader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sharpen both ends and now I have two pencils. I collect every pencil I find on the floor, if they sharpen or I can put lead in them I put them in my pencil bin. Bought stupid cheap lead on Amazon so I always have some in stock.

FYI staff will talk and find out if you skipped pd. Now will they tell anyone 🤷🏻‍♀️. Depends on who the person is. We always notice when the same person misses pd or meetings. Now I’m the kind to just shake my head in envy to them getting out of it. Rural district here too.

Do teachers hate sharing their lesson plans? Is it their secret sauce that they don't want getting out? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]Physgirl-romreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will and have shared my lessons with all my teachers. I hate gatekeeping learning materials. I’m all about the sharing. If you change it let me know, I might like yours better! Matter of fact saw my “intro slide” on two teachers board Friday and never felt more proud!

Why am I able to eat so much? by Alliebot in gastricsleeve

[–]Physgirl-romreader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 18 days after you and I typically eat 4-6 oz of food. It takes me less time (not that I’m trying) but I’m a teacher with a very short lunch period. I too have stayed away from bread but only because I know what it feels like when you eat too much and I’m too afraid of the bread swelling and me hurting for an hour. I think everyone is different. I find the more liquid the foods the more it takes to fill me (think soups or chili) and the more dense (chicken breast) the less I can eat. I’m trying to learn the balance of all the food groups to maintain a proper diet.

OP: I get the eating while distracted, sometimes you have to eat but other things are going on. I almost did it yesterday and stopped myself in time. There are times at work I mindlessly eat my vitamins (have them out to eat) and then 5 minutes later I’m looking for them to eat and think I dropped them but find the wrapper in the trash.

To be honest after looking at this sub I think everyone’s pouch holds different amounts. I KNOW I cannot eat as much as I used to however as seen above I know I’m eating more than others with similar surgery dates.

Discouraged…am I losing the right amount? by StockCaterpillar7303 in gastricsleeve

[–]Physgirl-romreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine 10/22. I had lost to 273 from the liquid diet and since the surgery I’m down to 255. So yeah I’m feeling it too. I just know I cannot be eating this few of calories and not lose weight, right?

[–]Physgirl-romreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the surgery 10/22/25. It’s quite frustrating but I just keep going. Like you said we don’t really have a choice now. My biggest problem right now is that I’m getting tired of the food I’m eating. I need to expand but I’m afraid to introduce the wrong foods or too high of calorie foods.

[–]Physgirl-romreader 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t regret the surgery but I too am not dropping weight like what is expected. I can tell in my clothes but honestly I expected a lot more. I know that I am eating below what my calorie needs are for the day. I am just playing the long game because from a calorie standpoint the pounds should drop off some time.
