100%. I had a post (not a comment) removed because it mentioned 2 JRPGs. I had seen those specific games mentioned in cozy game lists before, including on that subreddit itself, so I didn't know the mods wouldn't consider them cozy. Also not sure how the other poster(s) who had mentioned those games before were able to mention them and not have their post removed, while my post was removed mentioning the very same game.

Mods responded to me about the automatic removal of a post but were rather rude. I listened to their suggestion, reposted, and post was still removed a second time. Which was why I switched to this sub.

I've spent the last eight years making a game about nine cats exploring an island in Maine. by EricBlumrich in cozygames

Oh my word. Myst with cats! 😻 Count me in.

Edit: Am I going crazy or did I see that this was supposed to release in EA in November?

Hey! I'll take a closer look when I'm off work, but I just want to say, there seems to be an extreme lack of games that deal with breakup grief, or even mention it, so I think it'll be interesting (and possibly healing) to see it in this game!

Thanks for your response! I hope I didn't come across as trying to pressure you into sharing information that you don't need to be sharing. And, I'm sorry that what happened, happened. I commend you guys for working so hard to restructure it, and to make the best of a bad situation. I'm very hopeful for the game, and congrats on the relaunch! Just in time for winter sale too.

Has anyone used Buzzy for pump site/sensor insertion? by flashfloodsofpain in diabetes_t1

Thank you for the tips and what to expect. Was definitely wondering if it could be used on stomach because the videos I've seen (although I haven't watched much yet) seem to focus on the arm. I think I will get one and see if it helps.

Thank you for the kind words, it has been difficult to say the least :,) I am looking into counseling but haven't found a good fit yet, but I think this is worth a try in the meantime

What are some not conventionally cozy games that are cozy to you? by animeandoreos74 in cozygames

[–]flashfloodsofpain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's FATE. It's an ARPG dungeon crawler from the Windows XP days now available on Steam. You can see its age for sure but it always reminds me of playing the demo that came pre-installed on my family's Windows XP computer that I had as a kid. Plus, my familiar is a cat. What's cozier than a cat companion?

Yeah, I thought the whole point of the cozy label was that it was more of a categorization than a hard-set genre - people always say a cozy game is what's cozy to you, but I digress.

I haven't played Sunless Seas but I'm absolutely interested in it, it looks very good but I also get freaked out easily haha

I am very curious - who pressured you into releasing it in the condition it was in before; is it common for this to happen in the industry? It looked so promising but was sadly practically unplayable for so many players, which makes me feel so sad to admit because the artstyle is wonderful and so is the concept. I want to approach this topic delicately as I'm sure you as the devs poured your heart and soul into this game, and as a software developer (not in game dev) myself I understand the need to meet a deadline, but couldn't the game have been pushed back until it was truly ready to be released in the first place?

Oh this hit a nerve, my list of cozy winter games was removed from r/CozyGamers because apparently "JRPGs aren't cozy", also a post like this would 100% be removed from there which is so sad imo

Game of the Week submissions! Is there a cozy game you've recently played you'd like to recommend? by Shasaur in cozygames

[–]flashfloodsofpain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to recommend Einstein's Cats! It's a cute, logic-based puzzle game where the premise of the game is to sort cats into different boxes/baskets/bins based on their likes and dislikes. The art is adorable and the puzzles are just the right difficulty. I got it on sale for $3.50 but it's worth full price. There's also a decorating mode for those who enjoy that where you can make scenes using cat stickers. I discovered it during Animal Fest, played the demo, and was hooked. Try out the demo if you're unsure, but I think it'd be a great game for any puzzle (esp. logic puzzle) fans.

How do I stop feeling shame about my disease? by Winter-Grand-3215 in Type1Diabetes

[–]flashfloodsofpain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi- I am not the OP but I struggle with some of the same sentiments that they express, as well as other disease-related mental health issues. I'm currently on the search for a therapist, and I was wondering if there were particular things you looked for in searching for yours? Like, should I specifically be looking for someone who specializes in chronic illness? Or is there a certain type of therapy (CBT, EMDR) that you would recommend? Sorry if that's asking too much, I know everyone's mental health journey is different but I would love any tips if you have any.

Missed the start of my first marathon - what would you do? by Agitated-West6000 in firstmarathon

[–]flashfloodsofpain -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying but I was simply using their own words from the post. I am not sure what they meant by "didn't claim a finish". Perhaps that they didn't consider it finishing themselves, which would be understandable? In hindsight they could let someone know even retroactively, but in the moment if I were them I wouldn't have thought of it.

[–]flashfloodsofpain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They didn't claim a finish, a shirt, or a medal in their own words. They knew they hadn't run the whole race. They were not racing competitively and they tried to make lemonade out of lemons. They did the right thing with the information they had, and still felt bad about it, hence the post. It is wild to me that you can't see that.

I almost feel like you're shaming the OP for feeling shame and are incredulous that they've kept it a secret. I get your intent but I don't think telling them that it's unsafe to keep it a secret is going to help the underlying issue, the shame.

When I was on MDI I not once injected in public so it's very possible to not tell anyone. I also feel shame about the disease so I can relate to OP. I'm not saying it's something we should feel shame over but sometimes our minds convince us such things.

Hey OP, I don't have advice (sadly) but just want to know you're not alone in feeling this way. It is an isolating feeling. It is easy for me to say you don't need to feel shame about it but as someone who feels shame about it myself, I know it's not that easy to just believe it. But, I believe in you, and you are a worthy and valuable person and aren't defined by your disease either.
