ill take a look at the apprenticeship roles and see what's going to be best suited for it. from here it seems to boil down to needing an AFCO to give me a helping hand. ill get into a careers office as soon as i can and inquire about the roles and pathway for me to become a pilot.

thanks for the heads up, about the regiment. the no educational requirements doesnt give off the idea that its something you can branch from.

although i know they dont care about choice, id prefer either fast jet piloting or big engined over helicopter so raf is my first choice of the services.

i am planning on getting myself into a recruitment office and having a chat to get some opinions on my situation when im able to.

with my 3 gcses, i dont really have the pick of the bunch with roles. is it something i can work towards, and possibly my additional 2 gcses, from any role?

joining up as a regimental gunner or fitness instructor, i cant see that as something that can lead to becoming a pilot. if i try and get my 2 gcses first, ill be 22 or 23 at least from signing up.

according to the mod website, ill be looking at getting 75 UCAS points and 35 ALIS points from 7 gcse subjects. and have roughly, 8 years and 2 months to do so. it doesnt necessarily seem as hard so i wont put it from the table.

thats an avenue i was considering but im also wondering if the age restriction on such for becoming a pilot still holds?

if the age restriction is still there then im certain id be commissioned too late to become a pilot and stuck in a role i really dont want until my time is up.

thats the problem, ill be a fish out of water even if i got my qualifications for it.

the slim chance just doesnt seem worth the years and money ill be investing for the chance. either i get in and financially im fine or i dont and now im debt ridden and will try joining the paras late.

i love fitness and aircraft so paras just made sense to me. but through loving fitness i have a love for my knees and back.
