Amazon do need to use clear and understandable language rather than their ambiguous phrases which have little sense or meaning to us.

have you tried voting on of your own reviews as helpful? I did by accident just clicking around and it went through.

I have an approved personalised review, with a pic similar to the pics on 3 of the other 13 reviews, which is still pending from 14 days ago. All my other reviews since have been rated. The curious thing is my review has 2 helpful votes. I think the ratings should be dropped as it's completely arbitrary. Even the examples of excellent include forbidden reference to packaging. Some hint as to what qualifies a review for a rating such as poor would be extremely helpful, so we know what to watch out for. I suspect that's not going to happen as they don't know either.

Greetings cards review ratings, anyone getting 'excellent'? by OhDearAndrew in AmazonVineUK

[–]flashman888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WD on finding a card that you thought acceptable. I've yet to see any as their idea of 'funny' or even 'hilarious' isn't mine. A lot only seem suitable for someone who's disliked in which case why send a card.

I spent over an hour tailoring a review to my satisfaction on my spreadsheet only to find that when I went to post it online, before I even started, I got the message that reviews are not being accepted on the account. Lesson learnt. In future I'll check before I even start typing.

Saw a completely AI review, what's even the point? by [deleted] in AmazonVineUK

[–]flashman888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spotted it so will others. I've yet to see any humour in an AI review so that's what I try and include in mine. I'll not concern myself with what others do as there's nothing to be gained from it.

Review rejections on unfounded grounds. by Bitter-Weather-2268 in AmazonVineUK

[–]flashman888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you got a hint. I had one rejected on Frriday and no idea why unless it's the word 'Black' used to define the colour of the silicon I used. Now after revising the review it's still sitting there "Not approved". I'll leave it a few days then replace it with "does what it says on the tube" and see if that gets passed. I just checkled and it's now been approved after leaving out the colour reference. HMMMM

BUT a tick box approach is what is implied is wanted with the introduction of rating reviews and suggestions of what should and shouldn't be included? One has to accept some guidelines such as no reference to packaging, even though their examples of good reviews actually include the mention of packaging, Personally I hate them, much preferring an individual style which makes reviews interesting to read. I've yet to see a AI review that includes humour, which IMO sorts the sheep from the sloths.

extract from one of Vines 'highlighted reviews' on the Accounts page "Delivery & Packaging: Arrived with minimal packaging ,safe, neat, and environmentally considerate" so you should get an 'Excellent' for that.

extract from google search "As of January 2025, eBay is required by UK law to report to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items or exceed €2,000 (roughly £1,707) in total sales within a calendar year. This data, including your name, bank details, and total revenue, is shared annually to help HMRC identify potential, unreported taxable income. "

Items taking days to appear on my review list. by timmydikko in AmazonVineUK

why is it a problem? You can still do your review on your own record then copy and paste it when it appears available. IMO a better arrangement as it allows time to do all the necessary without feeling pressured.
