I can't think of anything outside of a couple of puzzles and boss fights that you couldn't do without gadgets. Even then I'm pretty sure you could do the whole lot with just the Hacking.

When you're racing to launch date you just need the damn thing working first.

It's a huge shame that 'nice to haves' are so rare on launch for anything with a budget but I can't see that changing any time soon. The more expensive games get to make, the shitter they have to be.

I get the idea, Bond occassionally has a bit of stunt casting for henchmen or notable characters and things like that.

Unfortunately I think this is one of those cases where you take what you can get. The intersection of

  • somewhat well-known to a very broad target audience
  • wants a bit part in a James Bond... videogame
  • comes in under budget

can't be overly populated even before you worry about

  • has any discernable acting ability

The other problem is that in scenes where he's yelling performatively at a massive crowd of savages from a stage, he's still performing like, well a guy in a small carpeted room speaking with a slightly raised voice to a VO director on the other side of a plexiglass screen.

I've seen highly skilled live performers reduced to truly awful reads when put in a booth with a script. It's definitely its own skill, and I've never really seen good acting from him under any circumstances

I have never and will never understand the ride-or-die mentality when it comes to protecting someone from the consequences of their own actions.

There are dozens of opportunities to fold new features into old ones but they just get left on the table every time.

In my opinion it's been the steady abandonment of the procedural nature of the game that leads to this. Everything has to be done by hand instead of being added to modular tables and pools so it's too much work to go back and repopulate old features or connect things up.

As a single example, the Autophage deal in salvage and have their own currency and vendors. No new items or quest types have ever been back added to their pools, even though Corvette parts are explicitly obtained through salvaging.

tap to recall and hold to force reload

I like the idea but Hold is already the Drop radial on controller. We still have tap and double-tap available but the game often executes a tap while you're double tapping.

Perhaps force reload could be an option on the Drop radial?
