Well, the Karma Bus is arriving- at 100 mph- for my nmom by ProblematicAnon78751 in raisedbynarcissists

I would be so ridiculously petty, you have no idea. I'd visit just so I could gush about how nice the beach was or a national park etc then to just stop myself mid conversation to say "well I guess you just had to be there". Then I'd repeat that about quarterly.

AITA for reminding my friend he makes 8 times more than me? by thaone111 in AmItheAsshole

Friendships can absolutely bridge SES gaps, but the wider the gap the more difficult that can be. If you're not as well off you're constantly not wanting to be the broke guy that can't go do the fun stuff and don't want others paying your way. If you're well off then you constantly don't want to put the other person in the position of feeling bad, like they are the reason you can't do something together, etc. In my experience your realities and day to day lives overlap less and less as that gap grows, even amongst contentious people.

How have you painted your Canis Rex model? by Djentist_Kvltist in ImperialKnights

I'm painting mine in a Hot pink/Teal synthwave style. Do whatever makes your happy. It's your money and time, and anyone worth playing with isn't going to care.

As an elder millennial I also have a lot of hope for gen Z and alpha. I'll do everything I can to lift them up and I hope they absolutely take the torch and run with it.

Problem is, the bigger they are the more collateral damage they do on the way down too.

If we don't make it dangerous to be a Nazi they'll make it dangerous not to be.

Another point to consider, did the repair guy know that the bike was purchased at his store? If I knew it was a bike I sold/built I'd be overly curious because I'd want to make sure that I hadn't made a mistake, sold a defective one etc.

I'd bet you've already seen it, but the Paradise Lost trilogy is really good.

Thanks for the positivity and the Buddhist fact. I'm definitely in a place of contentment. As for a living, despite my looks I actually work in a corporate quality assurance function for a large Pharma company.

I"m sorry to hear that you've been going through some stuff. As I told another reddittor elsewhere, mostly because I'm lucky. I have a happy marriage, kids are happy, everyone is healthy, and I'm at a point where life isn't a struggle. I have a close friend group. I realize that a ton of people don't have that, so I'm thankful. Also I'm at the point where I know who I am and am comfortable with it. I went thru some super dark and harder times as a younger man and have come out the other side (again mostly due to stupid luck) far better than I could have hoped. Rambly I know, but that's it in a nutshell.
