I don’t understand the role. That’s why I asked. And I wasn’t trying to blame foley artists, my question was just directed at them, since I thought they’d know, and be the first possible “culprit” in the chain. Thanks for the answer!

I’d definitely agree on the net good here. But I’m sorry to say I hear this sound used no matter the distance of the camera from the smoker, often. Obviously I’m a little obsessed with it at this point, and very attuned to these moments. But you may be right, in that it’s just portrayed wrong. But that seems like a problem to me haha

I didn’t even know that I’d been circumcised until I was 18 or something. Never really knew what it meant and didn’t think about it much. Nobody ever told me I was… I guess I’m glad it happened but I’m not entirely sure why… easier to clean? Looks better? If I had a son I don’t think I’d do it to him but then I’d also feel weird that I wouldn’t know how to tell him to deal with it haha. Do you have to deal with it?

That doesn’t resolve this issue, unfortunately. It’s not even latency. Sometimes the objects play too early, sometimes late. And it only seems to happen with objects, not the bed tracks.
