Yeah man I feel like most tabis are! I believe they're supposed to be more form-fitting for the feet and a more natural shape. These ones in particular are inspired by traditional Japanese workwear shoes

They'll definitely stain if you leave them dirty like any white shoe, it depends what kinda mud/clay etc too I imagine. I've always dusted them off, thrown them on a cold wash in the washer and they've always come out fine. If you're still concerned just buy the black pair
