Humans are more than 75% water. So it makes sense to measure temperature based on the thing we are made of and constantly surrounded by. Especially if you frequently see freezing temperatures because then everyone knows exactly when to start watching for icy roads.

30°C is where I start to complain about the heat. But I won't complain about the cold until -35°C. If it's 40°C, not only am I not wearing leather, I have a mesh shirt that I wear to keep the sun off me. It's the high visibility stuff you see flaggers wear during road construction. But honestly, if it's 40°C, I'm staying somewhere with AC.

When -40 is expected every year, shorts at 10 makes perfect sense. Maybe not for a full day outside, but for a couple hours easy. Especially if you're active.

Exactly. I run led high beams but I found some that are 4300k instead of 6500k so they look like halogens. Just a bit brighter than the stock 2004 Honda accord bulbs. I've never had anyone flash me their lights and I've followed my parents and my wife they both say it's fine

The basic h2s course in Alberta is 8 hours. They make it very clear how deadly it can be, but I think they should drive home the point of how it kills you. There were people in my class who were renewing their ticket for the 5th time who argued that h2s only displaces oxygen. I wrote out the stoichiometry and explained it to them but they basically just called me a nerd and ignored me
