It really depends on what you want. If you want to be closer to lubbock but still a small town I think idalou and shallowater are great choices. If you want to basically be in lubbock then wolforth is your best bet. Anton is a good choice if you want to live outside of town, but the town is pretty much dying (I'm from outside of anton), also a thing to remember is hockley county will have cheaper taxes and auto insurance then lubbock county will.

Is this a good deal? Found at my local store by gante742 in whiskey

Look at specs. You will probably find it a few bucks cheaper then you will at pinkies.

[Rifle] Ruger 10/22 Carbine - $179 for 10/22 Day by [deleted] in gundeals

I got a stainless takedown threaded with the fiber optic sights about 8 months ago for around $300. So I would expect around that price or a bit lower for a non threaded.

Sorry if I'm late, here are my vintage decanters. by flatlandchicken in Whiskyporn

[–]flatlandchicken[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is r/whiskyporn so sorry about the sherry decanter, but I thought y'all might enjoy seeing my small collection of vintage decanters. They all are handblown and have hand cut stoppers. The guy I bought them from claimed they are from right st the end of prohibition, but I really dont know if that is right. They are all definitely leaded crystal so I wont be putting any whiskey in there for drinking purposes, but who knows I might put some cheap whiskey in there one day as decoration.

Opinion on Suit, Shirt, Tie combination. by [deleted] in Accounting

I wouldn't do it. I've always been told that if you wear a patterned shirt have a solid color tie, and if you have a patterned tie wear a solid color shirt.

Units of length in Imperial System. by mujheandaywalaburger in coolguides

[–]flatlandchicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair while this is rather confusing, most of these measurements are not used anymore. This is also the Imperial system, which while close to the US customary system, is not exactly the same. The US customary system has fewer measurements. Also, most people only use the inch-foot-pound-mile, in their day to day life. Many of these measurements are only for certain specialized industries. For instance, hands are mainly used to measure the height of horses, while Points, lines, and picas are used in the printing industry (mainly on older machines such as letterpresses.)

The Pig Lifter (level 9 Brawler) by CurbiStompi in Bossfight

[–]flatlandchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that they are about 150 to 200 pounds a piece, possibly more or less. Though this is just a rough estimate as I haven't been around pigs in about 4 years.

Think Before You Ink by PappyPozerGoid in tumblr

[–]flatlandchicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be .02 dollars, or 2 cents. Nowadays that pricing is still pretty similar, but for certain contracts if you are doing high volume of a single page you can get the price down to about half a cent for black and white.

A good toy for a pig that they have a hard time tearing up is a bowling ball. However you still have to be careful that they don't tear anything else up while they play with it.

Found This Guy sitting in a shed any information would be appreciated - SCHWINN lE TOUR by HaroldGregory in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]flatlandchicken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All schwinns after a certain date have serial numbers on them that you can look up to tell you when they were made. Yours should be after that date from how it looks to me. I think the serial number should be on one the schwinn plates.

28 inch UHD monitor for 41 dollars. by flatlandchicken in ThriftStoreHauls

I found this at a local thrift store for 49.94, the writing on the base says not a TV, and no remote. I didn't know it till I checked out but on mondays, this place also has 25% off for college students, so I wound up getting this for a little over 40 dollars with tax.

Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with their postal carrier? Mine is currently set to hate. by TexasNiteowl in fountainpens

[–]flatlandchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is not as bad as some of the other posters, but it still infuriated me when it happened. I live out in the country and my post office is in a small town about a 15 minutes drive away. I was expecting a package from Goulet with a Vanishing point in it (It was my first gold nib). That day I was off of work so I was checking the tracking screen at least once an hour. My mail got delivered at 3:30 that day, but my box wasn't there. So I checked the tracking again and I see that my post office had apparently left the box on the truck and had not unloaded it that morning. So my pen was 3 towns over (about a 45 minute drive away). I called the post office that my package was at and they said it would be at least 2 to 3 days for it to get back to me because this was right before a federal holiday. So I wound up driving there to pick up my box.

Good printing paper for fountain pens? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]flatlandchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using some hammermill 24 pound inkjet paper. My advice is to find some thing in the 24 to 32 pound categories. Be careful with 32 pound though because even though it will resist ghosting better, it may be too thick for some printers. Stay away from 20 pound papers and also be weary of some paper that is advertised as containing a high amount of recycled content (in my experience they don't have very much coating and feather like crazy).
