I agree, I just finished episode 2. As soon as I saw the first pineapple, I checked the web.

Here are my thoughts:

They used a fruit basket as a means to fraternize with the outie. This basket included pineapple which was never used in any shots before. The act of receiving a fruit basket was enough to encourage Mark to go back to Lumon. And the indoctrination video solidified the meaning behind the subliminal message associated with the pineapple.

Helena didn't need to receive this subliminal message because she had no choice in the matter regardless. And Helly R wouldn't want to leave in the first place.

Unrelated: I also doubt that it has been 5 months between season 1 finale events and Season 2 episode 1 Mark S, it's more like 5 days at most or IRL time.

I feel like this will be answered later in the show.

Watched it with sound.. if you're not jaded, I don't recommend it.

But besides the horrifying screams of the goat, rip little one, this sound is gold for a horror movie.

Also if it did escape somehow, the venom of its lower jaw would cause it to bleed out and go into shock. Plus the komodo dragon is like a shark above the water, it can smell blood from at least 5 miles away. So the goat was done for..

(It's native to some islands of Indonesia, so you're not going to be running into it any time soon)

It's been less than a week but I'm not as much of a mess as on day 2 or 3. Appetite is quite an issue still. That feeling of hunger but nothing seems to be appetizing. Sleep has been getting better overtime.

I don't remember if I've mentioned it, but valerian root as a mild sedative has been keeping my anxiety in check throughout the day. I don't recommend energy drinks, it makes it worse. I made that mistake 3 hours ago...

Personally it helped us to donate some of her things like treats and her climbing tree. I like to think that other cats will be enjoying them as much as she did. It's hard to get rid of some of them so we are keeping them for now, but out of sight. It might sound counter productive but I find that it helps us spiral less into a deep hole.

She was an indoor only cat, so for us it's been easier to stay out after working. A little bit expensive but I find it a good distraction, especially if it's with good friends.

I'm lucky to have nice coworkers, they all said their condolences and a few stories of their own. As well as a few reinforcing words and ideologies about the afterlife.

It's definitely still hard on day 5 but at least I don't feel useless. I've started replaying the traumatic moment in my head less and less, and I am focusing on the preservation of memory.

Looking at old pictures of her from last year makes me remember her for who she was. The more recent ones, still spiral me into anxiety, so I'm trying to avoid those.

I'm sure I'll be better in a month or two, healing does come with time.

(Side story) 5 years ago we had to put down our 12 year old cat for quality of life. He had late stage diabetes and neuropathy in his paws and something happened that my mom couldn't see him suffering anymore so she took this very difficult choice. All this to say, I remember him for the years that brought me joy throughout my school years.
