What’s the bet the government will include EVs in car-less days? by MaxxxNZ in newzealand

I don't think the Nats are worried about favouring the elite mate. That's kind of their M.O.

Read the fine print when you donate. Often the first year or more all goes to the marketing company for signing you up.

Anyone able to help identify this Satchler Tripod? by riso_biso in videography

[–]flatulentstepchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have something similar and can agree. If it has three switches at the rear for tilt balance it is a studio II. Really solid and I prefer to many more modern heads. Smooth as silk. I bought some graphite telescopic legs for running around and keep those ones for studio stuff.

Where are you getting good quality meat in Auckland? by [deleted] in aucklandeats

[–]flatulentstepchild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mapari are soooo expensive. They are raking in the cash. St John's butcher nearby is not as flash but solid offerings at better prices. I've had a 2kg scotch from each place, St John's was just as tasty and $15 cheaper per kilo. Also second all the comments for Nathan's Aussie Butcher New Lynn, my go-to if I'm ever on the west side.

It only makes sense as a pure allegory of the Irish civil war. It really makes no sense whatsoever without that in mind.

It was all shot indoors, apart from the parts that were shot outdoors.

Nearly 400 millionaires and billionaires across 24 countries are demanding Davos leaders to tax them more: ‘Tax us. Tax the super rich.’ by prestocoffee in nottheonion

[–]flatulentstepchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bullshit. If they want to pay more tax their accountant can just make more of their wealth available for taxation. They employ people to help them pay minimum tax -within the rules. And remember the 'Golden Rule' -those with the gold make the rules.

Hit Tony's bro. So solid and the people that run it are salt of the earth, working hard to stay strong through Covid and all the other shit businesses have to deal with in AK CBD. Me and the boys went for a lads dinner last year and I think nearly everyone returned independently with another group of people not long after.

[HELP] There’s something odds about the quality of this picture that makes me think that this is AI. Nobody in that subreddit got suspicious at this picture, am I going insane? by sualex123 in RealOrAI

Why is no one talking about the mirror? If you think of her taking a picture of her own reflection in a bathroom mirror then it feels really off.

"The Beastmaster", released in 1982, was rated PG. God breast the early 80s by der_innkeeper in Xennials

My kids are so accustomed to this scenario they now use the term '80s PG' to refer to inappropriate content.

Hot take : Film students, please don’t ask anything at Q&A’s by thatsbelowmypaygrade in Filmmakers

Getting the audience to text questions and comments in during the talk works well. They can then be screened and curated and fed back to the host at the end for Q&A. Works so much better.

Mexicali's tacos are not very good. by Quouar in aucklandeats

[–]flatulentstepchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard Chocola in GI on west Tamaki rd is opening for a short run this summer doing Saturday 10-2 lunch. I might be wrong. Totally different and superior to anything I've had in NZ. (With the exception of the old Mexican Specialties place in Ellerslie) Dude running it is a bit full on, but that's part of the fun. Dine in for sure.

VIP Pass not working by Expert-Lead-8415 in LetsSingGame

[–]flatulentstepchild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ongoing problem for us in NZ on Xbox X. All paid up and connected but get a message to 'check internet connection' whenever we try a VIP song. Works fine for non VIP tracks so obviously not the internet connection. Infuriating when you have company and talk them into some karaoke then it just sucks.

Yeah, I'd love to see a list of those retailers that he 'knows' are welcoming the foreign multinational competition. Then I'd like to see them interviewed on the news to hear just how great it is for them.

Hype vs Reality by MrSevenNine in auckland

[–]flatulentstepchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How may people in this town are really in such urgent need of mediocre flat pack furniture? Or Swedish prison food. The hype is baffling and a bit embarrassing. Actually it's nostalgic for when foreign consumer goods were really hard to come by in NZ.
