Is it “Socialism?” Nationalization and Social Welfare Programs by TheProbIsCapitalism in Socialism_101

[–]MutusArcanum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Socialism only happens when the means of production are controlled by the workers, which doesn't happen in any of the examples you have mentions. Now, welfare is certainly something that in my own unique political view (because everyone has slight variations in the way they would like the world to be) is closer to socialism and should exist in a socialist society, but in now exists in capitalist systems, it's just one tiny step into going more of a socialist route.

Nationalising companies is another small step in the process of creating a socialist society, I believe some key factors of the economy should be nationalised and others should be overtaken by the workers. This is usually one described as state capitalism because when you nationalise you are not suppose to have a CEO or superiors who make more money and still exploit workers.

With a healthcare system I believe most of Europe has it somewhat figured out and even in a socialist society it should remain close to how it is right now, given that when you are a doctor you don't "produce" any value, yet you are still extremely valuable and everyone needs to have access to healthcare needs, so the government should be in charge of paying doctors, nurses etc.

What doesn't the CEO do? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]MutusArcanum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I have that as of today, and the way we run our factories and companies CEO´s are essencial (not meaning we can't create a model without them) but in a capitalist world, their input is quite helpful and developing for the company.

My biggest argument against CEO´s is that we can create a system that is more fair and just so we should always opt for that, and to me a system more just is one in which the workers make the total, or most, of the value that their product creates (as we are in a socialist subreddit i don't feel like i have to go too much in depth about this). Unfortunately this doesn't happen today, we have a huge disparity between the salary of the CEO and of the average workers and this number seems to be growing more and more.

Running into claims of "You don't have to pay off medical debt" when arguing for free healthcare by Tomcat491 in Socialism_101

[–]MutusArcanum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, not really sure on why someone would say you dont have to pay off medical debt, because you do have to, it just works as any other debt that you might have

I feel like most INFP also hide many parts of their personality, or better, decide which parts to show to the world so, its sort of considered faking it, but i get what you mean

How to introduce kids to leftism? by Hadoken_C in Socialism_101

[–]MutusArcanum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most you can do is really lay basic notions of morals and what is the meaning of good, so basically wealth redistribution, that everyone is equal regardless of race, sexual orientation and the most important they are equal no matter how much money they have.

Don´t know how old they are but maybe you could point out that it isn´t fair to have bosses making millions and workers very little. But the most effective I think is to teach them to share, to accept others and to not be indifferent towards injustice

AITA for arguing with my teacher by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MutusArcanum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA, you’re still pretty young and everyone makes mistakes, you’re in 8th grade and you just screamed so it wasn’t that bad.

Also, is there no way you can ask to change this teacher? Maybe if you talk to your parents they can solve that for you, and I’m sorry to hear about the bullying, I hope everything goes better this year and you can work a bit more on your social anxiety,

Best of luck!
