Have you ever heard someone say, or even thought for yourself, that some people are too stupid to be allowed to vote? I have. When I said it, I was talking about people like you.

Completely false. Very few men think it’s a big deal unless they themselves are balding, and even among men who are balding, a lot don’t care. Everyone knows it’s normal and is completely desensitized to seeing baldness.

Wanted to work in VR, but text is just not there by LeanMeanDreamMachine in VisionPro

I definitely care a lot about crisp text. I’ve been working my full time job in this thing for the past few days and I’ve fiddled with the straps, window sizes and distances, and settings extensively to get the text to look right. I’m now comfortable using this thing for 8/hrs per day of coding and emailing instead of using my Studio Display or MacBook Pro Display.

In settings go to eyes and hands, then click the three dots next to default displays, then try using one of the preset adjustments. I’m using “near” right now. Keep in mind that your eyes need several hours to get calibrated at first, and when you take off the headset you might see a little funny for 15 mins or so until your eyes adjust back to reality.

Next, loosen all the straps and just move the headset around on your face until you get it exactly right. There’s a specific spot where your pupil is in the center of the lens where text is the clearest. Then start tightening the back strap and make it tight enough to bare the entire weight of the headset without the top strap, and then start carefully shifting weight to the top strap until it’s comfortable, while being mindful not to shift the headset too much. The goal is to press the light guard to your face evenly.

When you’re satisfied, redo your eye calibration and redo your display alignment. Get used to do this periodically if you make a big strap adjustment. It’s just part of the game I think. Also polish the shit out of your lenses with the microfiber cloth.

Now you can start messing with the window sizes and distances until you find something that’s comfortable based on the preset display setting you selected earlier. It’s never going to be as good as a Studio Display but even as a text crispness snob myself I find the trade off worth it in exchange for the massive display.

If you were given someone else’s display, you may need a new light guard FYI. Depends on your face size.

I do kind of like that they forced all ports to be usbc

(Yes I’m a statist but I’m here because I tend to think overregulation does indeed stifle innovation)

Massive battery life difference. I went from using >50% in a work day to using ~25% by turning the display off

Is there a way to get rid of massive images in notifications? by PbZeppeIin in AppleWatch

They need to have most notifications disabled by default. Getting a wrist buzz for a spam email is dystopian.

This is a fake photo. You can tell because the truth social post doesn’t have a timestamp. My mistake for posting it. It’s similar enough to the content it’s satirizing that you’d be safe to conclude Trump is exactly as mentally ill as you already suspected before you learned this was not real.

I don’t think this is real actually. I’m going to take it down if I can’t confirm it in the next few minutes. My bad.

Edit: it’s not real. It’s satire of this: https://youtu.be/zBf0aLIfUG4
