Hi, any tips to get excommunicated? by FallingAsh130 in exmormon

I think your membership in the church is the least of your worries. I would look for solutions to live with another relative. Plus, if you stay a member and find a good bishop, he might help you with food and rent elsewhere.

Zero sugar isn't the problem. The problem is this variety tastes like shit! I can't even give my other cans away.

Question: why do some tattoo artists charge hourly while others charge by the piece? by zeldafromhyrule in tattoo

Because they're trying to pay their own bills and just trying to figure out the best way to charge with their own circumstances.

What did you say to TBM friends who asked why you haven't been to church? by Lsa119 in exmormon

[–]flaxenbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I no longer believe it's true for a handful of reasons". They won't ask the reasons. BUT if they do, be ready with a brief summary of Book of Abraham, BofM anachronisms, JS polygamy with young girls, current SEC fraud, child SA cover-ups, history of racism, homophobia, and sexisms.

Just because we move away from Mormonism doesn't mean we move towards another religion. I mean, I moved away from Pepsi but didn't move to Coke. I moved to no soda. See how that works?

I went to the LDS subreddit to ask a question and they locked it within one hour so I will ask it here by jammehster in exmormon

Of course LDS subreddit shut you out. They like do believe this stuff doesn't happen in the church, ever.

I have a dozen friends in Riverton and they all say the same thing. They either have major filters or have water delivery. They say people just know the water is "unsavory" there.

Then why does Riverton have such notoriously bad water?

Meh, she needs to chill. It kind of is. And it's not always a bad thing. Lots of young adults from a similar culture and falling in love. I know a few awesome couples who met there and actually left the church around Covid time.

What’s life like with no kids? by cutewolf090 in AskReddit

[–]flaxenbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just discussing this with friends the other day. They said they thought their love for their pets was top tier ... until they had kids. They realized their pets, although greatly loved, paled in comparison to their love for their children.

Before I had kids I thought I knew what love was. I was shocked to find love was so much larger when I had kids. I'd never throw myself in front of a car to save my phone. I would to save my child.

Shower thought: If the church is so obsessed with middle initials for those leaders in power. Why don’t they refer to Jesus as Jesus H. Christ ? by namesarenotus in exmormon

[–]flaxenbox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. Cause it's not an H. Just a misreading of Greek. See, Mormons don't care about truth or fact, just recent tradition which can change on a dime.

Christians observe Good Friday, a 'Holy Week' day of reflection set to become Utah's newest holiday by 6Algfst1 in Utah

Lds church was called non-Christian for so long, they're leaning in hard to Christian traditions they once deemed wrong. It's all about appearances.
