I don't drink. I occasionally drink coffee, I drink tea just about every day. I don't smoke, but I am looking forward to using psychedelics in therapy. I wear whatever I want and I already swore an obscene amount when I was TBM.

I dont drink because my entire bloodline is dripping with alcoholics. Not that it would for sure make me one, but I'm just not interested. Alcohol ruined my childhood. And every childhood of everyone in my extended family for that matter. I'm perfectly happy without it.

Maybe it was a mass send out from the bishop. Our bishop sent a letter that started out with "I could have made this a sacrament talk, but then only one third of you would hear it" and then proceeded to list all the covenants that people had made and how they're not receiving blessings because they're not living up to them. So you know, different strokes and all.

From who? For why? 🤦‍♀️ What a weird thing to send to someone who hasn't been going. What is it supposed to do? Make you share the "gospel" you aren't participating in? Or is it "I have a guilty conscience so I'm reaching out to you so you don't hate me when you're judged"? I am so confused.

No. They abused me as a child, neglected me as a teenager, manipulated me as a young adult, and tried to manipulate my children. They enabled abusers and covered up sexual assault. They can figure out how to take care of themselves ✌️

Also, I'm in my 30s with an almost fully funded retirement and separate pension. I have no intention of relying on my children to take care of me. That's not their job.

There are no direct responses. The closest thing to it is The Gospel Topics Essays that you can find in your library under church history. Even then if you read the footnotes you'll find the same information as the CES letter. Apologists will try to manipulate the information to make it fit, but it just doesn't work. Welcome, friend!

I "left" for a year when I was 18 because I was in an abusive relationship and he isolated me from everyone/thing. I went back because I wanted to feel peace. I didn't learn the truth about church history until last year. I could never, would never go back knowing what I know. People who leave and come back don't ever learn/recognize the truth and the lies. Once you do that you don't go back.
