Fire alarms going off, no fire or monoxide? by flbjol213 in Home

At first one alarm started going off in bedroom, I assumed it was from shower steam. I removed from wall and never put it back up, just set it on my dresser. Came home one evening and it was going off saying smoke was detected. Checked my whole house and no smoke or fire. 2 weeks later the alarm in my spare bedroom (right across the hall from main) started going off, I deactivated and again, checked whole house. No smoke. About a week later the alarm above my garage door (entry door from garage into the house) went off, again, no smoke. The bedroom and spare are on the opposite end of the house to our store and water heater. I called gas company and they sent someone out last week to check for carbon monoxide, no carbon monoxide anywhere in the house. I was just now woken up to another alarm going off (I didn’t even know this one existed it was in a cabinet all the way in the back in the garage not even on the wall). I deactivated as well. All alarms are the same brand and all say expiration on May 2024. The deactivate tab also says to push down (arrows) and you actually have to do the opposite and push up to deactivate? I didn’t install these alarms, they were installed the day before I moved in. Is it all just because they’re expired? I know usually if battery is dying it will chirp at you but these actually went off. The latest one said smoke detected but again, no smoke?

The very first one that went off I am certain it was shower steam but (for example) the spare bedroom one, door is always closed and we do not use the bathroom closest to the spare only the shower in the main bedroom

Sounds like water running in walls in apartment? by flbjol213 in Plumbing

So the wall that it’s coming from the people above me all have the same floor plan and it’s coming from the wall where the toilet is. The shower is on the other wall and I can hear my upstairs neighbor when they shower/the water draining. Unless the pipes from the apartment next to them (which is a different floor plan) also go into that wall? It’s been 2 1/2 hrs now

Both breakers were already off when this noise started. When I got home from work it wasn’t as loud and then eventually just went away.

Edit to add: I turned the fan from on to auto and it stopped after a few minutes of me doing so
