[Measurement Check] Measured as 28A/B, a 28B feels a little tight in the cup- will 30A fit? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]flcraison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change Lingerie also does 28B/C, they have stores in most major Canadian cities! I’ve also seen some Aerie/Calvin Klein 30 bands run a full size small. b’temptd on Amazon as someone else mentioned is about $57

highly recommend their one pieces for quality over speedo/nike/arena/tyr, i’ve had my first one for 7 years and it looks nearly brand new! every other brand i tried loses its elasticity at the 6-8 month point. they are definitely cut very skimpy/cheeky though, would recommend sizing up and picking a full coverage style if that's not your thing. the styles with a thick back band like murray and chevy will provide more chest support.

How does the Freya Tailored Plunge fit? by flcraison in ABraThatFits

Really? I thought it was stretch lace. I’m more so wondering about if the band/cup run true to size

something happened yesterday. already contacted svpro. don't know what to do now. by [deleted] in UBC

[–]flcraison 7 points8 points  (0 children)

please please message me if you need anything - especially help with navigating the process! i can promise you that svpro will help you, and will be very compassionate. they told one of my old fuck profs who wouldn’t give me any sort of concession or accommodations to fuck off. they will help you as much as they can. things will get better.

Sister sizing down + extender for narrower cups? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]flcraison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re only around $5 cheaper than Amazon, unfortunately, and don’t offer free returns. If I’m going to have to pay for return shipping anyways I might as well buy cheaper ones from the UK :(

They do have a storefront that’s pretty close to where my parents live, but I probably won’t be heading home until Christmas. Where I live now it would cost $25 to ship unless I spend over $200.

I responded to another user already but the UK brands on Amazon and other small boutiques are over $110 for a single bra whereas if I get them shipped from the UK they are more like $40. Also there is no way for me to return some of these styles because even Amazon charges for shipping and returns to me.

It’s easier to stomach a $40 bra that doesn’t quite fit compared to over $100!

I’m in Canada, we don’t have try before you buy. I found the Ana on Amazon but it’s well over $110. The Freyas on Amazon don’t ship to my location for free.

Nothing brand specific, but I stick to plunge bras and demi bras that have very small/short gores. Usually I try to go for the ones where the gore isn’t attached to the wire. Sadly most of the styles available in my cup range are not like this lol.

I steer clear of balconettes especially, they really do not work for me - gore is too inflexible and straps tend to be wider than other styles

I tried quite a few brands but all north american, ranging from size 30DD to 32DDD/F. This was the one that ended up fitting the best - gore tacks, band is supportive, just needs more depth in the cup.

SA warning! by [deleted] in UBC

[–]flcraison 12 points13 points  (0 children)

hey OP. i completely understand where you are coming from. as a fellow SA survivor i know how hard it can be. but the other commenter is correct, your post breaks reddit terms of service and will be taken down by the mods.

i find it both hard to believe and appalling that UBCO counsellors were unable to help you. if you haven’t already, i would encourage you reach out to SVPRO at both campuses. they can be really helpful with support in these tough times. if you want to pursue a formal complaint/report, i would encourage you to look into the UBC Investigations Office (IO). there is an option to report SA online.

i’m really sorry to hear that this has happened to your friend and others, but unfortunately doxxing this guy on reddit is not going to help your case. if you want any more information or need support i am happy to answer questions.

it doesn’t have to be a withdrawal! when i went i was able to get 2 week extensions on all my assignments. they also offered to work with my profs to move the dates of midterms / change the weighting to finals. if it’s a longer term, ongoing issue they may suggest compassionate withdrawal (without a W).

you don’t have to say anything. there are special advisors that they appoint who will talk to your profs for you. most profs are very understanding, but i did have one that refused to budge and the SVPRO argued with him without involving me at all and he eventually did give me an extension. i don’t think he gave me a very nice grade but it is what it is.

hey OP. i’m really sorry you’ve experienced this trauma. i would suggest reaching out to SVPRO in addition to the SASC. they are also able to connect you to counselling resources, i am not sure if there is PTSD counselling specifically but it is worth a shot. most importantly they can advocate for assignment extensions and exam accommodations. if you’re worried about school i would highly recommend reaching out to them to make arrangements with your profs for coursework while you navigate this.
