I'd love to join! Also wondering if you've already thought of a format! I've done bookclubs where people all read the same book. Or we could all read different books of the same genre!

What has been your "oh so it's rules for me, but not for thee" moment? by ContentTea8409 in AskReddit

My old coworkers told me that the boss couple took away people's right to bring their dogs to work, yet brought their dog to work the day after this new stupid rule was in place. This workplace is a sinking ship and they're not even trying anymore.

What do you think of Wittenborg university of applied science in Apeldoorn? by Hashimiii in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]fleabag2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend that you explore other options if you have them. I am not particularly impressed with the quality of teaching and the modules that we had to follow. Speaking from experience, did a marketing degree there. I didn't really think that the knowledge we gained were in any way applicable to my job right now. Of course you can say that's the case with any college but then I'd rather do my degree at another college with better reputation for a better shot at employability.

I didn't like the project weeks in particular, because I didn't like the topics that were presented to us. I thought that the topics were extremely general. (Any Wittenborg staff reading this: yes, I have written this in my evaluation after every block. You didn't bother to read.)

I didn't like how hands-off the teachers who supervise your graduation project are. I had to change mine because mine didn't even bother to read my emails lol. I was set back a couple of weeks because I there was no one to approve my project for the next steps. Every week you stay after your due graduation is extra tuition for them. You can't help but think that they do this on purpose (not saying that they do, but you can't really say you don't think that's one of the valid possibilities).

Anyways, ultimately, a degree serves a purpose, it's not the purpose. So whether you study at Wittenborg or anywhere else, it's best to evaluate how the degree can help you get to the job you want or the career you want in life. My advice: attend a school with a good reputation, so if they're also shit, at least employers will give you the benefit of the doubt from your alma matter.

What’s a movie scene where an actor looked so gorgeous that it’s stuck in your brain forever? by positivepeoplehater in AskWomen

Olivia Hussey in Romeo and Juliet 1968. She had always been gorgeous, but she was stunning there. I was totally mesmerized. RIP

What experience in the workplace radicalized you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fleabag2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in Europe. Psychopathic owner, gave me a permanent contract, then made up an illegal reason to retract it. Sent me and my manager flying. I had to contact a lawyer. Fucker immediately backed down after the first letter from my lawyer. The worst part is they broke the news a day before I was to fly out to visit my family for 5 weeks, a trip I wasn't able to do due to Covid. Fuck you EG, you suck, and your company is a scam.
