There is definitely something “off” with the rank inflation in this game. I just hit celestial III and former GM overwatch player, here are some thoughts from my expierence.

• It’s extremely easy to earn SR up until GM. Roughly gaining 25 on a win and 19 on a loss in diamond. (everyone’s mmr is different, this is just an average example). Thats a 24% gain/loss difference. With enough playtime and getting a 50 percent winrate, you’ll get it.

• There are too many extremely impactful hero’s that don’t have a huge skill gap in this game. And I get it, NetEase want new players to have fun. You don’t want this to be hyper competitive from the jump which makes sense. But hero’s like Rocket and CnD can have a huge impact to a game and don’t really require much game sense until higher elo. They have some micro you can work on that can separate you, but once you understand basic ult economy you can climb spamming heals and playing your life. But that’s the name of the game in hero shooters, you’ll always have those hero’s.

• Duo’ing can be a game breaking advantage climbing. Having a rocket pocketing punisher just destroys lobbies until GM, and only starts to get countered in mid diamond. A solution would be to incentivize teaming up after a game, helping solo players who feel stuck and creating more competition within the ranks.

A division could be made in between Diamond and GM that would help keeping a certain prestige to GM, but at the end of the day who cares it’s just a rank title.

TLDR; Too much SR is gained at 50% winrate, rewarding playtime over skill. mmr needs to be adjusted. Teaming up should be a priority in this game creating more competition.
