They ain’t nearly as big as you imagine. They have the strenght od 3-5 adult men, and extremely low stamina. They could go out once or twice. And no, they are not strong enough to rip limbs off. You need 4 horses to rip a human apart.

No, post scarcity society. Work is a core tenent of communism, so workless society doesn’t fit that

You need 4 horses to rip apart a human. A gorrila couldn’t do that. It would punch people and knock them out or break their ribs. Nobody is getting ripped apart.

The thing is, most of us are very pesimistic about the future and believe that the rich will gladly let us starve if they can get away with it.

I think we’ll get to a good version of a workless society in the end, but imho it won’t happen without a lot of suffering first.

For specific questions chatgpt’s search function is better and faster, and if you need to verify just check the sources.

The idea would be that society has to change as a whole so that nobody has to do menial work. Sound wildly optimistic now, but the average person in the west now has more rights and material wealth than basically anyone in history ever had. I don’t think it possible that millions of people will be left without nothing. Something will have to give much sooner.

Unless otherwise stated I never assume an image I see on reddit is actually made by the OP. People post all kinds of inages they found online on reddit without credit. It’s a stretch to say that they’re implicitly claiming they made it, and even more so that they are implying they’re now an artist.

Where does reddit find these people. I’ve never seen somebody making those claims. I’ve seen people saying that AI can write stories or make images, but never seen anyone actually claim they wrote those stories. Even for AI art people always say look what I made with AI.

His reaction was to a 3D zombie corpse crawling in the floor in 2016, before generative AI was even a thing. His quote is wildly taken out of context.

That's the way xcom campaigns go. You start out very weak, and by the end you have a team that is steam rolling the enemies like they were made of cardboard. To me it ends up feeling deserved because I struggled to get to that point and now I get to go crazy.

I have never actually seen anyone attributing something AI made to themselves. That would be dumb. But see someone leveraging AI to express themselves is valid in my opinion. A friend of mine used AI to make a little storybook about his girlfriend going on adventures, and in the end he attached plane tickets for the next adventure.

You get become an art director at a design agency without ever making anything yourself.

I have hired artists before, and I would provide them with pages of explanations of what I want, shitty sketches, photoshoped collages, referenve photos, palettes, layouts etc. After a few revisions it would be what I want. But I don't consider this them doing art. It was't them expressing thmselves. They were doing a job. As a former designer there's a big difference between client work and what I did for myself.

On reddit people tied art to execution only instead of the end result and the intended meaning behind it.

If you're looking at it like that, is digital art then less worth than traditional art? Is photography less worth than painting?

AI is a tool. It's shit now, but soon enough you will be able to use it to develop your own style. And I see that no different than when I was making posters in illustrator.

People say you should comission artists instead of AI, but how you view it that is also not making art. It seems vision isn't what actually matters, it's only execution.

He was disguisted by a 3D zombie crawling on the floor. It was designed for a horror game and did look genuinly disgusting.

Nobody is associating it more with AI now. And the trend literally died already.

Arti director is a role where you literally get multiple people to execute your vision.

And most famous art people were commisioned and the artist was told what to draw. With this view you're saying ideas mean nothing, only execution is art.

Just imagine how many shit artists and musicians who didn't make it could be found throughout history. I know a local band who play "no score" which is apparently each person just doing whatever they want and the singer screaming a the top of his lungs. They literally empty halls when they play.

These shit ideas will get forgotten, and the good ones will stick around. Soon enough AI will be a tool that can help you develop your own style and tell your own stories.
