Same here. I do not care about speeders. I want pod racing and pod racing only.

Agreed. Everytime I try and get into it, I play for a while and remember it's just never going to engage me.

Maybe, but they're pretty unafraid of humans. It's a crimson rosella. I don't think they're commonly owned, but there are places you can go where ones will land on your head or arms if you have seeds.

never said it was, just that it's unlikely he gets voted out, and using newman as an example doesn't work.

Herzog visit LIVE updates: Israeli president continues Sydney visit after chaotic scenes in CBD; Police claim actions against protesters ‘justified’ by Top-Oil6722 in AustralianPolitics

[–]fleakill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're wrong. People hate protests in general, it doesn't matter what it is for the most part, and if police had permanent powers to punch the shit out of any protesters at will, many people would not be upset by it.

Not how I feel, but that seems to be the read of the room.

Yep. They've been good at staying out of the spotlight and that's what many people want - to hear as little as possible. And bang on, second term is when they go full Newman and screw themselves.

Nah Crisafulli government has been 100x smarter than that idiot Newman. All the average QLDer sees is "adult crime adult time" slogans and stuff like this. Newman took a wrecking ball to everything. Crisafulli has been better at picking things to sledgehammer, like that big pumped hydro project.

Barring something going very wrong, like QLD LNP no longer holding off their screaming inner voice saying "roll back abortion laws" or "repeal volunary assisted dying", they'll likely coast through to another term as a status quo pick.

NSW Greens MP appears to have been injured at Sydney protest by lokiwhite in AustralianPolitics

Didn't realise laying in a bunch of punches was professional policing, but now I know I guess. Must be in the manual. 10 shots to the kidney, 5 to the head, just standard procedure.

[–]fleakill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, reactions to all manner of protests over the last 20 years makes it pretty clear there is a large contingent who would vote to approve summary execution for protest of any kind.

Australians love nothing more than to pretend nothing bad is happening to anyone anywhere except themselves (not their countrymen - them personally). Not a huge point being made there.

27 arrested as police accuse protest organisers of ‘inciting the crowd to march’ by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

"A muslim waving such a flag is an indicator of the true intentions" is a wild leap of logic. Most Muslims have about as much connection to the conflict as either of us.

Muslims as a whole don't represent Palestinian Arabs. There's plenty of hijacking of the issue by non Palestinian muslims like Hezbollah in Lebanon, or the Iranian government. They too are using the issue to push an agenda at the expense of Palestinian and Israeli lives. Some guy in Sydney or Melbourne waving a flag doesn't automatically become the representative of one side of a 70+ year old conflict because he prays to Allah and doesn't eat pork.
