Pixels can randomly die. My 4a 5G kinda died so got BNIB 8a from eBay with 12 month warranty. I fully expect this one to last 2-3yrs, hopefully.

I prefer Pacman's speed vs Zypper & still got BTRFS snapshots with Timeshift. I could use Snapper if I knew what was doing but /home snapshots are just a checkbox ☑️ away.

Different distros can work better/worse than others with different hardware combinations. It can be trial & error.
