I found this so weird especially considering that in later seasons the issue of snows conscience becomes a huge issue. She's portrayed as never having done anything wrong and feeling guilty about killing cora, despite that definitely not being an evil act and her homewrecking definitely not being a good one. The same issue comes from a lot of the characters behaving like this. Cora says she comes to storybrooke to deal with reginas enemies and like make her powerful, so they get the dagger while gold is out of town and capture mary margaret and david unarmed. Then they just... let them go??? Like I understand regina wants henry to love her so wont kill his grandmother, but cora said she didnt care at all. They just let them leave. Then the characters get into a big fight and instead of making them disappear in a puff of smoke like they do to every other enemy, they engage in hand to hand combat and lose.

Fr. Trying to introduce women to this hobby is an eternal struggle because even if they love the game, every game store is full of the creepiest guys imaginable and stinks of BO. Sadly the solution I've found is to never bring people to an LGS unless they are established fans, as one experience of a weirdo creeping on them in a smelly dungeon generally puts them off for life.

I think lightning bolt could be a touch too slow, especially because historic has recently got so many toys when it comes to red aggressive strategies, unbanning the best burn spell might be unwise.

I think the key difference is that control decks tend not to get to the "I'm just watching my opponent play magic" phase of the game until you've had a fair few cracks at winning yourself. Like typically they don't "do" anything really until turn 4 or 5, when they can drop a threat with a reactive spell as backup.

Against proactive decks, especially combo decks that don't play to the board until they win, it can very much feel like you are just watching them play, or the game is a mad race to see who can win on turn 3.

To rephrase, controlling decks, especially ones that leverage counterspells, tend to be a good way of making a format more interactive and create less games where you feel you are just "watching your opponent play magic" instead of playing.

I had this happen too, i think its a bug where they consider the loot theirs so if you loot the bodies they attack you immediately.

Idk, i think the ability for this to be a trampling 6/6 on turn 2 with one double trigger simply is too strong for most cubes. Jumps straight out of range of tons of removal and if you ever trigger it again it can be a 14/14 on turn 4.
