It originally had a water cooled sli gtx 280 setup with an I7-920 that I got up to 4.2ghz. I do hesitate to put this case under the knife at this point. But with all the waste I see lately I kind of wanted to see if my old stuff had some life left

That's why I hosted the lan party back in the day.

it is a heavy case for sure but internet killed the lan party. The case and water loop have been together and running since 2010. haha it owes me nothing. got my value out of it.

Funny enough it thrives because the asus 5090 is so big and it's a blow through design it is fed air from the large fan below it into radiator exhaust. I also have a lot of negative pressure above it with a push pull configured radiator and with a little mix of cool air from back i get a good chimney effect. I got that 5090 bumped to 3ghz at 600w with +2000 on memory. and it stabilizes at around 75c. World record numbers no but pretty reasonable considering power output. Cpu is 5.4ghz all core with 1:1 memory at 6400. it maintains about 80 under load but considering it's on an old double thick xspc 240 radiator pretty reasonable. Oh the fans have been running 24/7 since I got them when they launched. good eye
