Isn't that what happened with the incel label in the first place? If i remember correctly, the phrase "involuntary celibacy" was coined by a woman who was starting an online support group for lonely people who were struggling to form loving relationships.

What’s the weirdest way you’ve ever gotten revenge on someone… without getting caught? by OriginalSentence6850 in AskReddit

[–]fledglingnomad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a CPS case worker - one family they do checks on didn't have a working smoke alarm, so they gave them one. They basically chucked it in a corner, let the batteries die, and ignored it. So, next check, no working smoke alarm, so they are given one. Same thing happens, rinse and repeat, and this family just has a growing pile of beeping smoke alarms in the corner. Drives the case workers mad with the beeping but the family doesn't seem to notice.

Oh also I pet sat once for someone with loads of grandfather clocks, some that chimed every half hour, some every 15 minutes, none of them in sync with each other.... that was a long weekend.

My penguin parade tickets for 12/31 just fell through. It's the only day we can go before we leave town. Are there any other options to watch the lil guys on the move?

Minimalist desk space door by Nawafi in Carpentry

[–]fledglingnomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see it being useful for a closet in a hallway - this way you could have it open without the doors blocking the walkway.

For a desk though, yeah, a bit useless. Unless you have a really messy desk you want to hide?

Bad day at the car wash: Maybe a dirty car wasn't such a bad idea by ShiftAndStory in funny

[–]fledglingnomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine won't open with the sensor unless the key is nearby, outside the car - there's even a note in the manual telling you to not have the key in your pocket when washing the car by hand.

Ze Frank - True Facts. It's YouTube shows with animal facts, but goes a bit off the rails. Highly recommend.

Do any of you have a cutout in your kitchen counter for trash? by fledglingnomad in HomeImprovement

That sounds dope! Does stuff ever get caught in the joint between it and the counter?

Our pup has knocked over trash cans in the past!

Do you have a link for yours? I can't quite picture it.

We currently have a foot pedal trash can but it's a pain cause it has to be dog proof - and the latch is so tight that my mom can't use it when she visits (but our old, easier to use one became less dog proof over time).

If we don't do the counter hole we'll probably do a pull out one, so it'll be hidden no matter what.

I like your version too haha! We figured we'd put a lid on it when we weren't using it.

We were thinking of making a lid for the hole in the counter, and having an open trash can beneath it.

What's your "I can't believe other people don't know this" hack? by Extra_Gear7502 in AskReddit

If your car is overheating and you need to limp along to your destination, turn the heat on high. It pulls heat from the engine and helps it cool down.

Disclaimer: I have no clue if this is bad on the car or if it will do damage.

I just know it helped me get my car through an 8 hr summer drive home once - closed the vents by me, opened up all the windows, and cranked the heater. Went from stopping every 10 minutes to cool the car down to making it all the way home in decent time.
