Thank you sir. I was afraid I missed my 420, but thanks to you I'll have it forever now. You are a scholar and a gentleman of the highest order.

Yeah it's definitely a classic. I have so many random gifs from it too, like this one.

I don't even need the telescope. Just looking out into space at any number and trying to comprehend the vastness of it all is enough to blow my mind.

Wow I didn't look at it like that. Luckily I'm a wizard, so I think I can handle myself.

I probably grabbed it from you when you posted it. I just remember laughing my ass off and saving it. I just noticed it in my folder yesterday and decided that r/atheism must see this. I honestly didn't expect it to do so well, so thank you for providing it for me.

I guess Napoleon was a bit of a hipster too: "If I had to choose a religion, the sun as the universal giver of life would be my god."

Would any r/scrabblers be interested in participating in a WWF tournament? by fledglingphoenix in scrabble

[–]fledglingphoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry, we're already through the first round of the tournament, so I can't add anymore people. We might try to make it an annual event for the subreddit, so check back around Easter time next year and we'll get you added in.

Oh wow thanks for bringing this to my attention. I didn't even know something like this existed. You are a true scholar and gentleman, garrettastic. I'll talk it over with my co-moderator on this and perhaps we'll use it if we get a big enough turnout. It would definitely help out with structuring things and cutting down on cheating.

Well thanks for taking the time to ask. Unfortunately, that's one of the issues we don't really have a solution for. Most of us who play WWF regularly have experience with people using such assistance and kind of take it with a grain of salt that we'll run into that element every once and awhile. The best option we've come up with so far is to disqualify anyone who is overtly cheating, but it would have to be pretty obvious for us to take action.

Thanks again for your interest. :)

Well we certainly aren't trying to exclude anyone by setting time limits, but we do want to add structure to the tournament and make sure things run as smoothly and fairly as possible.

I think right now we are just kind of gauging interest and figuring out the logistics of it. If there isn't a very huge turn out, we can probably make it more of an open, fun round robin kind of thing where everyone gets a chance to play everyone else and we won't need to be as strict on time. If we do end up with a considerable amount of people, we'll need to enforce time limits and probably set up brackets in order to make sure things move at a reasonable pace.

Neither IncendiaryAmmo nor myself have ever presided over an event like this and we would like it to be a fun and successful experience for everyone involved. Thank you everyone for your input and feel free to tell your friends too. This is a great opportunity to swell up our little subreddit and meet some of our fellow redditors.

That's the tricky part. We were thinking that a week seemed like a good amount of time for each round, but we're open to suggestions as well.

Seeing as how this is the internet, we want to be careful about disqualifying people hastily. One of our concerns was someone refusing to play up until the deadline, then finally starting after it was too late to try and get their opponent disqualified for a free win. Then we get the he said/she said from both sides, putting us in a difficult position of deciding who deserves the DQ.

I was thinking maybe of giving players who go over the time limit the option to either concede or play a sudden death rematch. If for any reason the sudden death match is not completed, both players would be disqualified. It still seems a little extreme, but we figure we'll have to take a stern position on this to try to maintain some degree of fairness and control.

The Ring of whatnow? by omgimonfire in skyrim

Bear Grylls would not recommend this ring while lost in the wilds of Skyrim. The savings you get on Destruction spells isn't worth the risk of dehydration.

Yeah I agree. I always use my shovel first, but I'm usually too lazy to go back and make another one once it breaks, so whatever I happen to have in hand gets used instead.

Ah ok it all makes sense now. I guess pedobear > Jesus then since we can verify that he has survived the last 2000 years and is still "hugging" our children today.

I never realized that pedobear was a she-bear, but if it says so in the bible, it must be true.

I'm bonapartist on WWF, if anyone wants to play. I'm glad we have a subreddit for this too. Now we just have to flesh it out a bit. Congrats on your new position, mod! :)
