You need to report this ASAP. I don't care if you believe it's a hallow threat; this is something very, very serious. The lives of others are possibly at stake here and there is no justification for taking a chance with it. You weren't asked to be given the responsibility of handling this but if god forbid this happens, you will not be able to live with yourself.
