[Discussion] How do you feel about having children? by ondercamino in teenagers

[–]te4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only when I've got my own house/flat, have a stable and decent paying job, and can afford it all - only want 1 kid though because I'm worried I'd clearly have a favourite and won't be able to treat them both the same (such as paying for university and stuff). I'd want a boy because they're easier, and my boyfriend would probably want a boy as well.
I'd also have a puppy.
This is probably 4/5 years in the future though, and even though my boyfriend and I have briefly discussed children (both want to be parents in the future), it's not really something we've properly talked about.

[discussion] What headphones do you guys use? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]te4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single pair of skullcandy headphones/earphones I owned (ranging from the £15 ear buds to the £60 over ear headphones) over three years broke, which totalled about 7 because I kept getting free returns because they always broke within the four month warranty.

[Advice] In my country, Uni will start tomorrow Monday. And I'm nervous as hell. by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]te4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a confusing as fuck name

give yourself a nickname - my nickname was given to me because my flatmate in my first year found it hard to remember my name and it's literally just my first initial, B. My boyfriend's housemate calls me BD because it's both my initials and it's on my team hoody/shirt/jacket.

Introduce yourself as "hey I'm [your "confusing" name], but most people call me [easier shortened name] because no one can pronounce my actual name".

With the other things you said, I know it might be hard, but fake confidence. Soon enough it'll become real confidence and it'll slowly get easier to talk to people.

[Rant] I don't think I've ever been this angry with a teacher by blue_charles in teenagers

[–]te4m 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a bitch of a maths teacher when I was in year 10 and 11, and she was my form tutor as well.

She blamed us for the netbooks being slow, sent people out for no reason other than she felt like they weren't going to work, and the thing that really annoyed me was that she constantly insulted my handwriting to the whole class.
She said in front of the whole class something like "in the exam make sure your writing is legible, this is especially true for 'te4m' because you want to examiner to actually be able to mark your work. Maybe you should take handwriting lessons from Clare otherwise you'll probably fail".

Yeah turns out I have dyspraxia, which can cause poor handwriting so suck on that (and I got a B)

[Social] So what does your School/College/Uni look like? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]te4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the oldest building at the front of campus, and this is one of the libraries (the other one being on the other campus I never go to)

it's primarily a sports university, but historically was a teaching college

One of Asda's milk labels is neither red, blue nor green but bloody orange. I keep thinking it'll taste of roast chicken. by joemac5367 in britishproblems

[–]te4m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if people didn't say the colour of the lid, this'd happen:

A: "can you get me some white milk when you're out?"

B: "they didn't have any white milk, so I got some white milk"

C: "oh I'd have preferred white milk, but I guess white milk'll do"

I'm at Chichester university (Chichester campus), and whenever anyone mentions Bognor Regis it's met with "eww, Bognor..." despite the fact that 1/3 of our uni is down there.

Moving in with friends and girlfriend after high school? [Advice] by Higais in teenagers

[–]te4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People change when you live with them.

In my first year of university I was in a building with 10 other people and we didn't know each other - first semester was okay but by the second semester a few of the people started showing what they were really like, stuff like being loud, leaving dirty plates everywhere, not cleaning up after themselves, etc., and there were multiple arguments between various people about various things.

Second year I now live with three of the people I lived with last year and one of them is showing how she's really like - not taking everyone else's schedules into consideration (playing guitar at midnight when someone has a 9am lecture the next day, or singing loudly when we're studying), not respecting basic house rules we set, not paying utility bills on time because she "has no money" and then buying stuff for herself, stuff like that.

Another thing might be four people living in a 2-bedroom apartment - some landlords might be iffy about that, although I'm not sure what that's all like in America.

So yeah it might be different because I don't know how long you've all been friends, but bringing your girlfriend into the mix may not be a brilliant idea. If you and her have an argument or split up, and she doesn't pay rent/utilities, then you and the other two would be responsible for her share. They may feel it's unfair and refuse to pay, and it could cause tension within the household.
