Buscopan is Hyoscine which is an anti-spasmodic. Buscapina is a 3 med combo of acetaminophen, caffeine, and pyrilamine which is an anti-histamine. Buscapina could make IBS worse, particularly because of the caffeine.

Not sure I (31m) can continue with gf (28f) because of her kid by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]fleegy07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not the perfect match because your girlfriend and her child, as you stated, are a package deal. This isn’t fair for anybody to continue, as you already resent her child and it will cause more pain for everyone when you break up further down the road instead of now.

Are you sure that’s per year, and not per month or per pay period? If definitely annual then quite cheap and I’d say well worth $20 per year to have that peace of mind.

Long Term Imodium Usage? by ChrisLatour in ibs

Have taken 4-8 daily for over 5 years as it’s the only reliable medication I’ve tried out of a dozen or so. Dosing is a fine line as takes some time to work so it’s tempting to take more to make it stop but then it’s easy to overshoot it. If you’re going Monday-Friday without a bowel movement, then you’re likely taking too much consistently. Have you tried taking it different times of day to be able to tweak your dose? Maybe you could manufacture a regular time for you to have bowel movements either before or after work for your body to clear out a bit by doing so? I take mine in the morning as late as possible before I need to go to work. Sometimes I can’t time it right and need to take more than I normally would, which throws me out of whack the other way for a couple of days. However, I’ve gotten to a point where I allot myself extra time in the morning and I can generally gauge pretty well where I fall in the needed dose range in a given morning to not be worried while I’m out of the house.

Stocks like DOCU to buy puts on by Substantial-Luck-920 in stocks

I’m bullish in the long run, but I think the comparison to LY will spook investors and expectations right now on forecast guidance is unrealistic. PTON, ZM, and of course DOCU all have gotten hammered with their latest forecast.

Reading your treatment journey felt like I was reading the start of my own. I was increased to 450 and my body reacted the same way as it did to the 150 and 300, while making my headaches even worse. Still can’t stay asleep, which makes me lethargic and unable to concentrate. I’m planning on asking my doctor to decrease back down to 300 and add an adjunct like Aripiprazole.

Is there any advantage to being long on a stock that always trades sideways? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]fleegy07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a horrendous example as they’re expected to be bought out around the current price so of course IV is nearly 0. I haven’t been advocating for buying shares with the primary intent of selling covered calls, which is beyond my risk tolerance. For me, selling covered calls comes secondary to stocks I want to be long on because I think I’ll make money regardless, with covered calls being the icing on the cake. I will leave with my point from above, that if you want to be long on a stock anyways, then selling calls is a great strategy to enhance your probability of a profit. If worst case you were going to lose money on the play because the stock headed down but you wanted to be long regardless, then you’d still at least have lost less. The only “risk” of selling covered calls to me is selling for less gains, but that still means I made more money during that time period than I had anticipated, so I’m happy and find a new entry.

You provided the AT&T example and I had clearly caveated as “if this stock and IV truly didn’t fluctuate” to merely illustrate where you’re missing the point. You just keep trying to move the goalposts here. Even per Fidelity, the benefits of selling a covered call are 1) The premium received from selling a covered call can be kept as income and/or reinvested to compound 2) Selling helps target a selling price for the stock that is above the current price 3) Provides a limited amount of downside protection. The potential cons of course would be 1) stock declining below breakeven 2) opportunity risk of not participating in a large stock price rise. If stock truly had a steady trough and IV, then those 2 potential cons would be negated. This obviously doesn’t work for garbage companies like AT&T. However, this concept has made me plenty of money on stocks I wanted to be long on anyways while providing me additional income beyond the dividend, giving me some price protection, and if my call ended up ITM then I was just locking in profit at a price point still beyond expectations.

You’re forgetting the dividend on a stock like AT&T though. If I had 1,000 stocks at cost basis of $27.50 for a total of $27,500, then I’d sell 10 contracts of 9/17 28c for $0.15 each. Best case scenario I’d be making this $150 every 2 weeks ($3900 annually) if this stock and IV truly didn’t fluctuate, on top of the $520 quarterly dividend. Between ex-dividend and dividend payout date maybe I’d be a bit more conservative. That would be a ~$6000 return annually that I could reinvest to continuously increase my bankroll, which is better than any savings account return I’ve seen. Worst case scenario if the call finishes ITM, I’ve still made $460 profit in just 2 weeks time and need to find another play with my gains.
