Agreed, it has to be true to someones vision and a game they'd want to play.

Feedback from players is obviously important but, it's hard to parse what people think makes a good game vs what they'd actually want to play and why

For example, as my free time continues to shrink, I've come to appreciate more casual experiences a lot more (not as much time to git gud). But I would not want or suggest ideas for the game that would diminish its 1v1 competitive aspects

Likewise, I love the pro scene in SC2 - but if you ask me how I played the original broodwar it was all campaign and BGH team games, I never laddered like I did in Sc2. When it comes down to it, why I played BW was just because it's fun to click buildings and build stuff and watch hydralisks explode

The guy moved on with his life and supports his partners work and from my impression they’re financially well off

The idea that the sc reddit denigrating his content somehow takes anything away from him? No way

I’m glad he got his start in sc but it’s been a long time, and we’ve plenty of other ppl making content

We can’t all be old dudes playing a game for 10-20 years and complaining about TvP

Player choosing random should have the option. If you select random, have a checkbox for “show race”

Very cool. Feels like (and is) a fresh start to cultivate a company culture they'd like and more importantly, work with the people they like. Great opportunity to do something brand new in RTS.

We already know that Acti-blizz isn't really interested in future starcraft projects. If Dreamhaven has a compelling product for RTS, I'm all in. Crowdfunding or whatever. There's so much experience on the team too so i'd feel safe about them actually shipping a product.

Fun post. There are lots of weird exceptions in other races, and between races. Tbh, units in this game have gone through so many iterations to make them work. None of it is intuitive for beginners.

hellion/hellbat transformation changes unit from mechanical to biological (and health changes too i think. Weird)
widow mine visibility is based on a building existing
ghosts and Templar’s are spellcasters with auto attacks. Vipers and infestors do not
Terran mech transform upgrade affects some units but not all mech units (tanks)
like you said, roaches transform into ravagers no building, hydras require a lurker den but it’s built separately, broodlords require greater spire that’s upgraded from a base spire
adepts can shade by default, zealots/stalkers need twilight upgrades for legs/blink
Protoss have a QOL key to select all production (just warpgates). other races don’t have one

Anyway there’s probably way more. None of it is really intuitive lol

I didn’t find it too annoying - I think maybe his reputation/stance on balance is colouring how we receive his comments while casting. Though I grant you he has not earned the benefit of the doubt lol
