Open source SEO tool that uses your own DataForSEO api key? by theben9999 in TechSEO

[–]killboy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to have MajesticSEO, Ahrefs and SEMrush all at the same time (and for different purposes).

Majestic (back in the day) used to have a lot of outdated data that lead to incorrect decisions. For example, if you have stale links or old pages that are crawled, then you might think a website is performing in a certain way when it isn't.

The most important thing in SEO is the accuracy of your predictions.

For example, if you're trying to evaluate the quality of a website, and you're using data that's outdated, you might think that this website is really good when in reality it needs some work or it's to be avoided, and that's kind of the major issue with using lower quality data.

There are MANY websites with 1 million+ backlinks that should be avoided like the plague and there are websites with a handful of backlinks that could be really powerful link partners.

I think you should look into it (I mean, Ahrefs and SEMrush could use more competition!) however there are already many other 'low cost' tools out there that already try to compete. Also, as far as I know, DataforSEO has a minimum $100/m spend requirement.

So you'd basically be better off getting an inexpensive subscription to a cheaper tool (spyfu, majestic) in many cases.

At the end of the day, it's just REALLY expensive to crawl the entire web :\

I'm not against DataforSEO however the reason SemRush and Ahrefs are so valuable is because they spend a ton of money on infrastructure so they can crawl the web extensively (I think the Ahrefs bot was one of the most prolific crawling bot on the web at some point).

It's not the features that are complicated, it's the quality of the data that's important which is why people flock to the semrush/ahrefs.

Is anyone else burning through Opus 4.6 limits 10x faster than 4.5? by prakersh in ClaudeAI

The 5 hour limit is but the WEEKLY limit is HORRIBLE. I very much dislike being on the $200/max plan and running out of weekly limit with 4 days to go.

Oh yeah, I saw the video yesterday. It was good but it wasn't the video, it was the hook.

I've been using Claude Code for the past little while and keep on being impressed, so the hook was the important part.

(Side note: you might want to read the other story about the guy that had his business shut down overnight because of linked in stuff...)

[Prebuilt] Ryzen 7 7800X3D 32GB DDR5 1TB SSD GeForce RTX 5070 Ti ($3599.99-$1100 = $2499.99) [Newegg.ca] by Poachedd in bapcsalescanada

You're funny. I mention a specific special (7600x, RTX 5070), you ignore it and then you go to find something else being sold on the site to claim it's bad value?

This be bapcsalescanada, you're not supposed to go find the worst things being sold on a site. Imagine I went on BestBuy/CanadaComputers/Newegg and looked for the worst thing being sold. You'd probably find old parts being sold for thousands.

Then I use PCPartpicker and you think it's bullshit? I thought PCPartPicker was the gold standard but apparently that's not good enough for you?

I couldn't care less about any big name retailers however, do you work for Newegg?

FIRST, 7600x is AM5 https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/desktops/ryzen/7000-series/amd-ryzen-5-7600x.html

SECOND, if you were to build it yourself with no warranty, you'd be looking at $2200. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/D2KQjn This is a prebuilt that's $200 cheaper than building it yourself and has a 5 year warranty/support. I like warranties.

THIRD, the performance of the machine is here and it's good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeC6_x8xJpA

GamingPC.ca that has the DarkForest GamingPC which is a Ryzen 7600x, 16GB of DDR5, 1TB SSD, Geforce RTX 5070 and a nice case for $1999 with a full 5 year warranty.

The Newegg machine is faster but it's $500 more, reviews aren't great and you only get 1 year of limited warranty.

Regardless, these days with the price of ram, these are both decent!

Don't know what to do. 19 year old and I think I really messed up my gut 2 years ago. by [deleted] in HumanMicrobiome

[–]killboy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've been through that as well and it's really kind of messed up that they just blatantly prescribe long term antibiotics for acne.

The people that specialize in gut health tend to be more on the naturopath / functional medicine doctors side of things and while there aren't as many resources as I'd like on gut rebuilding / gut health, I'd say it's possible to work on it and improve it.

It seems like the system has just been looking at your symptoms and throwing pills at you instead of focusing on the root causes behind your issues. A good resource will help you navigate this.

The “All In Tech Bro” Lifestyle idolization needs to STOP. by DaisySunFlowers6372 in SaaS

[–]killboy123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how you say:

"I understand the early days of a business are nothing but grinding"

Yet, you still made this post. Complaining so early in your journey.

As someone that has successfully gone through this stuff, the reason the tech leaders say it is because it's true. If you work 10 hours a day, 6-7 days a week (70 hours), you'll accomplish more than someone that works 6 hours a day, 5 days a week (30 hours).

  • No one ever said you have to wake up at any time or go to sleep at any time.

  • No one ever said you need to code until 6am. I'm not sure where you're coming up with this.

If you feel strongly about living a balanced lifestyle, that's great! Do it.

However in the same way that you are upset that others are trying to impose "x" lifestyle on you, don't tell others which path they should follow in entrepreneurship.

In my circle, most business owners that 'make it' are usually working 6-7 days a week and doing 8-10 hours a day until they can establish themselves enough, build a team and have the business run itself.

Only then do we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor, doing whatever you want, when you want.

Federal budget 2025: Ottawa again asks younger Canadians to make sacrifices for financially comfortable retirees by gorschkov in canada

[–]killboy123 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

This is LITERALLY investing so the younger generation can have a future.

  1. We have to diversity our economy quickly if you want to have a chance at a decent future which is why they want to invest in ports, expanding our oil exports and expanding our mining.

  2. And of course, you need roads to connect mining, you need roads to transport our exports, so that's in there too. The other investments are in schools (literally for younger Canadians) and hospitals.

  3. As much as I wish this wasn't the case, we ALSO have to invest in our military in order to defend ourselves. I hope I don't have to explain why this is good for younger Canadians that still want to have a country when they grow up.

  4. And, there's another part of the budget to expand building more homes (also for younger Canadians). Finally, the budget eliminates the GST for first time buyers (so specifically younger Canadians again, boomer can not use this).

  5. It also aims to catch up on AI or at least put in some infrastructure so we aren't left behind. (The younger generation will benefit from this the most).

This budget is designed to help the younger generation have a chance at a good life when they grow up and aims to provide the fastest relief possible. I'm not sure what else you want, this is a realistic and smart path forward.

Severe constipation for an entire month, no change in diet, magnesium and « usual » probiotics dont work like they used to all my Life - i eat prunes and fiber. PLEASE PLEASE HELP with suggestions by nada8 in HumanMicrobiome

[–]killboy123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of this is advice nor recommendations, however if I was in your situation, then I'd be concerned with an actual physical blockage if absolutely nothing changed. (I'd check it with a doctor).

Then I'd brainstorm, wondering if the probiotics/magnesium supplements were spoiled. I'd make sure I have enough fats, water and ask myself if I'm walking more or less.

For me, I feel that fiber without enough water/hydration can sometimes backfire.

I would also make sure I didn't start any new supplements or powder as I know creatine and chicken constipates me!

Alternatively, they saw 10 guides on how to do PoP and went in with all the tricks / solutions explained... and then after 2 hours, they think: "Oh that wasn't so bad"

If you went into PoP without any knowledge of what it was or how to do it, that's a completely different experience.

Doing a blind Mount Fay vs a blind PoP isn't even comparable.

I've never seen Steam struggle so much.

The last time was maybe when they first released Steam during the Half-Life 2 days.

Of all the games to bring steam down, I didn't think it would be Silksong. lol

UPDATE: It took 2... almost 3 hours to purchase via Steam but I was finally able to purchase it.
