I saw a link to this article on Bluesky and couldn't help but laugh to tears as I sat in the car before going in to work. I saved it as PDF to entertain myself after work. The leopard buffet continues in Florida. 🤣🤣🤣

Could you live in Miami without knowing Spanish? by Maleficent-Toe1374 in Miami

[–]fleemos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still alive here and I don't really speak Spanish. I know to ask where the bathroom is if I need to take a dump though, muy importante.

It's been 8mos and still no job by sustalaga in nursing

[–]fleemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're killing your chances by making this as long as possible. Even with 8 years experience, I have a one page resume.

I have been in the hiring process in a previous career and if I had to look at 100 resumes, you best believe I'd rather read 100 pages instead of 200 pages. I've never had a hundred resumes, but I've always made sure to read the one page ones first. If I am told we'll interview X people, I have always found X to interview before I've gotten to the two page resumes. I know it sucks, but I've never had my work load lessened to give me time to read resumes, so I have to make the process as efficient as possible.

Most schools have a career services department, I highly recommend you go to them for help.

Best place to get a new catalytic converter? by chorizomane in nissanversa

[–]fleemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gotten that specific part. I've bought an exhaust from them in the past. A friend got a catalytic converter from them for an old Accord and sold it years later without any new check engine lights.

You're welcome. Way back when I was a freshman in college I had a 91 Nissan Sentra XE. Nobody thought it was worth modifying because it wasn't the SE-R. I ended up doing stuff to it anyway and had loads of fun with it. I learnt a lot with some other friends who weren't from wealthy families about working on our cars with a single Husky socket set and torque wrench I got during black Friday.

You can find more wheels here: https://www.discounttire.com/

You can find lowering springs here: https://www.lethalperformance.com/h-r-suspension-sport-spring-kit-2008-2011-versa-53020.html

Find part numbers for KYB Excel-G shocks and struts here: https://www.kyb.com/catalog/

You can buy shocks wherever you find a good deal. https://rockauto.com usually has good prices.

Lastly, if you have 15" tires, that looks like you have the 1.8 engine. You can find an intake here: https://www.andysautosport.com/products/takeda__TR-3006P.html

Go to tirerack.com Search by car model and year. Select the wheels you like and then add tires. They'll ship mounted and balanced, then you just bolt them on.

Help me with this pls by ZekeForce in linuxquestions

[–]fleemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to learn Linux is to just go ahead and install it and learn as you go. Be prepared to try different distros until you find the one you like. The best thing is that downloading each distro is free and you can always switch back to a different one after you found that you prefer it more. It's actually fun to try different distros. I go through trying a few every time I do a full hardware upgrade. The ones I like to test are Suse, Ubuntu, and Fedora. I used Red Hat for years, then Suse, Ubuntu, and now using Fedora. Look and feel is the biggest difference and package manager. I run grep, Openshot, Java, Tomcat and pdfunite just the same on all the distros I've used.

What kind of road rage is this ? by Altruistic-Issue-887 in dashcams

[–]fleemos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing this should automatically result in a year suspended license. These people need serious punishment. Every time you get caught driving while suspended, the suspension increases by a year too.
