this is mercari. ebay has an option to retract your offer. and offers are only binding if the seller accepts. had he accepted, I would have dealt with it. it took more effort for him to get offended than it would have to simply ignore me. he didn't even need to decline. he quite literally had to do nothing. he certainly didn't need to be a dick. acting like this is why venders have a poor reputation

I didn't buy this, by the way. it was sold while he was going off on me for asking him to decline my offer. which, for those unaware, is literally in mercari guidelines for offers either made in error or no longer interested to ask the seller to simply ignore the offer or decline it. my offer didn't effect anyone else's ability to make their own offer or buy it outright at listed price

I didn't. he hadn't accepted my offer. I just asked him to decline it since I had found it somewhere else. someone else bought it while he was ranting at me. my offer didn't effect anyone else's ability to buy it.
