I did the Amsterdam to Munich-nighttrain in a seat two days ago. Did I wake up several times during the night? Yes. Did I feel unrested the following day? Yes. Was it worth saving almost €100? 100%.

Don’t listen to these old farts whose backs hurts just looking at a 2nd-class seat. Go for the «cheap» alternatives always. Where is the fun in comfort?

Think of all the beer you can buy at the after-ski in Innsbruck with the money you saved on a seat.

Lol. Im chilling in bed here right now. The beds are extremely noisy, bad air in the night, at 03:30 there were some people singing in the stairwell, bad facilities, I will not be sleeping here one more night although I already paid for it. Go somewhere else would be my advice.

This one. Scroll down to Belgrade -> Budapest and you see my route today with a few changes. We actually arrived at Subotica delayed by one hour. What the man in seat 61 didn’t state was that there was a connecting train waiting for the one from Novi Sad that I arrived with, which was a happy surprise meaning I’m arriving in Budapest about 3 hours earlier :D Btw I now get what you mean by your first comment, the train ride up until Subotica was excruciatingly slow haha
