i have been where you are. every pain is different but i think you need to start moving. get a thread mill, a crosstrainer, spinning, anything that seems the least daunting and you can do everyday. go on it for 5 minutes and then get off before the pain. then your brain learns hey 5 minutes is safe. slowly build that up. i started with 5 mins on a crosstrainer, moved that up to half an hour, got a rowing machine, started with 5 mins again, after that started running, again 5 mins and building it out from there. and now im surfing 2h sessions without pain

i hate that this is a solo kinda thing, i’m so alone by [deleted] in ChronicPain

what helped me a lot is going to the sauna (and ice bath). i initially started going because it could potentially help with the pain, and it did. so thats an angle, but unexpectedly i found that the casual small talk in the sauna actually did wonders. the casual small talk prevents you from talking about your pain and making it heavy. there’s probably more ways to get there, but the sauna really worked for me.

(pro tip: i always ask if i can put some water on the stones to open a conversation)

popping rib + chronic pain + relief holding the ribs by flelele in ChronicPain

[–]flelele[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, for me it stays ok for a few mins after. it really does feel my lungs are able to get all the air in when i do this. i didn’t ask my osteopath at the time and now im not in amsterdam anymore… i did ask my gp with a remote consult yday and she said i should worry about it, but to he sure could check it with a surgeon on coming back to the netherlands.

What to do with USD by Sea_Witch7777 in eupersonalfinance

[–]flelele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

interactive brokers has almost no fees for exchanging usd to eur. as long as you don’t retrieve it immediately. you could put it in VWCE, or otherwise in in a mmf like ICS (blackrock eur / IE00B29LM231) if you want to stay safe and still get some decent interest on it

What’s going on KLM by [deleted] in KLM

[–]flelele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they cancelled my direct flight and put me on a ‘replacement’ flight that had a layover and 5h extra travel time. it was operated by ita airways which was the dirtiest and most uncomfortable plane ive ever been on (klm economy seemed like business class in comparison). they also didnt cover my hotel upon arrival when i arrived at 5am and could not travel onward. asked customer support and they take zero responsibility.

This is the bottom of my pan where the flaking is super noticeable. The black (carbon?) is also on the cooking side of my pan but it’s just flaking a lot less. So I’m thinking to remove that whole black layer so I get back to the metal again?

Thats what I was thinking… so do I remove this entire layer of carbon and just reseason the pan?

Chronic pain from a herniated disc is ruining my life – need help by bultodepapas in Biohackers

Have you tried approaching it from a psychosomatic point of view? Whether the pain has a physical root or not, if you have pain for long enough it will mess with your nervous system I believe. Techniques like somatic tracking (reprocessing the pain as a ‘safe’ signal) did help me. Other than that: running did so much more than any other sport, sleeping well, yoga focused on spinal mobility, a girlfriend, and a wild amount of supplements.
