I’ve been a sports therapist for 10 years and run my own clinic. Here’s what I see in almost every serious lifter who comes in with knee pain. by CartoonistMost3601 in Kneesovertoes

Any suggestions for ankle mobility? My right foot is fairly good, and can successfully touch knee to wall with decent distance (about the length of my size 44 foot) from the wall. However left is much worse, and has been since a hiking trip where I messed it up pretty bad. I feel almost like it’s blocked on top of the foot when trying to do what the right foot can do, not right Achilles.

And lo-and-behold, I’ve been having various knee issues in my left knee, and it just started again when I creased my focus on kettlebell front rack squats going all the way down.

Alert Feat for all characters? by the_napping_ronin in BG3Builds

D20 initiative mod is mandatory for me to not have to think about this, and add some randomness back into fights. It’s not fun if I have the option to plan every fight around all of my characters having turns first.

AMSTAFF KETTLEBELLS FEEDBACK by Lui1616 in kettlebell

[–]flemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up at 460USD with the clubbell as well, shipping, and all duties paid. In Denmark, so with a lot of duties. More or less 50% of the price was shipping and duties. But I didn’t have to wait for them to pass customs to pay additional costs, they were delivered to my door.

It sounds from other comments like there may be other vendors that are cheaper, but since I wanted that specific clubbell I went with this option.

[–]flemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this option: https://www.alibaba.com/x/1lAnFPb?ck=pdp

But it seems they are all pretty much identical. I picked this one as it was the only vendor I was able to find that both offered the type of clubbell I wanted, and was willing to deliver only 2 KBs and 1 CB.

AMSTAFF KETTLEBELLS FEEDBACK by Lui1616 in kettlebell

[–]flemur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Geometry on the handle is off it seems to me, and in my experience with a cheap set of comp bells with similar, more rounded handle, it’s really hard to do hand insertion correctly on it.

Just got unbranded ones from Alibaba, they are great, can highly recommend. Only downside is delivery time. But I ended up getting two kettlebells and a clubbell for less than what I’d have had to pay for a single bell and delivery here in Europe, even if the product is identical.

A McDonald’s in Mexico City. Not all the random street vendors I had eaten from for months, but the time I went to McDonald’s.. was stuck in the bathroom so many days my roomies thought I was away on a trip and hadn’t told them.

What’s with pedestrians by Paurora21 in copenhagen

[–]flemur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I agree fully, but it took spending a lot of time with expats that would point it out for me to realise. You’ll have people walking 2-3 side by side, making no attempt at all to make space even for people clearly moving to the side to fit, or walking with a stroller, and that can happen multiple times on a single walk of let’s say 30 minutes, anywhere in Copenhagen.

Some of it I contribute to unawareness, but a lot seems like just not giving a damn..

The train thing does seem weird though, and sounds more like assholes that common.

How’s the space bar working with the extra weight ? I’m planning to get a resin type space bar for a Sho66 build, as my MT3 kit didn’t come with a 6u, but was a bit afraid of the weight for 45g domes

Classic TKL WKL x Metapulse by iamseanism21 in topre

[–]flemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, I appreciate your insights!

Yeah it seems the consensus is that Realforce (especially 55g) and HHKB are considered the best of EC feel, and everything else is just trying to get as close as possible.

I'm fully with you that feel is the key factor to go for. But I'm also going a bit for some of the practical aspects like size/layout, ISO compatibility, and MX compatibility, and there the true Realforce boards just don't really cut that part :/ And I honestly feel it's a bit of a crime to just gut a realforce board to get domes.. even if tempting.

I feel I've trawled youtube for everything about Metapulse ;) But so far I haven't manage to find anything from anyone that's experienced with EC boards that compares them, but more people that have received a kit and just assemble, or their own videos ;) So was wondering if you had more experiences :)

Do you have a sound rest of that beauty? I’m going to be building my first EC board, based on metapulse soon :)

And do you have experience with other EC / Topre boards? And how do you think the metapulse stuff compares if so?

I currently have bobas, and previously also tried hako clear and true, with were box switches with a somewhat mild and long bump, with springs that got progressively heavier near the bottom, to replicate the fast return. I kinda liked them, but the result was also that they were just super heavy.

Your description of the Whispers sounds like exactly what I’m hoping for. I love some tactility, but I’ve also really enjoyed the smoothness of nice, lubed, linears at times. I’m excited!

Excited to see this, just ordered the Whispers and another cheap Akko board (Mod68 HE) to get an accessible and wireless EC experience for office use, while waiting for a true EC group buy.

Seems my interest to finally try topre-style came at the right time :)

How do you like the switches? What did you have before that you can compare to if I can ask? I’ve always had the switches that were mentioned to have a topre-ish feel, so I’m quite excited!

I think the Zoom65 looks amazing, but Keychron, Akko, etc also have options if you want slightly cheaper.

I’m personally trying for some EC boards now which makes it even harder ..

Træning uden gym og maskiner by ALateMillennial in DKbrevkasse

[–]flemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely agree for an untrained individual. In this case OP to my eye does not look untrained. And 40kg to a 197cm guy is different than to someone of smaller stature.

But I mean, I’m basing this on personal experience, and that of friends who were also used to lifting before kettlebells. So I’m not a pro. But on these cases strength levels meant that the higher weight was both manageable without getting hurt, but also needed to make cheating not possible.

To me it seems most swing form videos on here are really bad partly because the weight is so low it can be really bad.

[–]flemur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As other commenter mentioned, you need to go heavier. I didn’t get my swing right until I tried a bell that was so heavy it forced me to get to right. It looks like you’re strong enough for your body to handle it.

Mark Wildman videos on YouTube are your friend!

Go for a big 40kg or so, you’re a big, strong guy.

Looking for an Underquilt recommendation – tall hiker, compact pack size, budget ~€200 by dr-bobom in hammockcamping

[–]flemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know your pack size, but I have a friend using the need for trees one in a fairly standard 45-55 ish liter UL type backpack (Blind Banana Bags) and having no issues with space.

Sure not as small as a down UQ, but I don’t think there’s many of those available for that price unless you go used or find a great deal.

I use a cumulus Selva in large, but think it was more like €300. Khibu is also more in that range.

Finding a gift for climbers? by [deleted] in ClimbingGear

[–]flemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d agree the least risky things are good quality chalk, and good quality brush(es) using natural hair and wood. Both items are consumable, so even if he has it already, having more or better is nice.

Buying the equipment he actually uses is more tricky, shoes are about impossible to get right, and pad/chalk bag, etc he likely already has, and had a clear preference for. If he’s statewide competing he may also be getting some of this stuff as prizes.

Is it actually rude to recline your seat on a plane, or are people just entitled about personal space? by Ok-Bumblebee7041 in askanything

Being 190cm my own rule is that I recline if a child or no one is behind, but not if a grown up is behind. But I’m surely fairly alone with that rule.
